I raise my hands to MP Gord Johns, NDP Courtenay-Alberni, B.C., for speaking to the House of Commons about the lack of investment in language revitalization in the 2024 federal budget. Gord Johns reads a quote from FPCC's Board Chair, Carla Lewis, who highlights the dedication and hard work of communities fighting for our language rights to keep our languages alive. Now, more than ever, it is urgent to prioritize investments in long-term sustainable funding for First Nation languages and heritage.  https://lnkd.in/gVw-fTtq

Thank you for highlighting this critical issue. Investing in language revitalization is not only about preserving culture but fostering community resilience and identity. How do you think further awareness can be raised at the policymaker level to support these efforts?
