Hello LinkedIn Network!
I am excited to share that I am running the 2024 New York City Marathon with the organization, Komera, on November 3rd.
In Rwanda, Komera means “be strong, have courage”. They are dedicated to supporting young women in Rwanda through education, community development, and health. I am excited to be a part of Team Komera and help contribute to their mission!
Below is a link to my donation page. Feel free to donate or share the page with others. Any help goes a long way!
I am beyond excited to announce that I am participating as a Campaign Manager for the 2024 Student Leadership Accelerator Program through the The Amalfi Foundation Over the next six weeks, I will be working hard to fundraise in support of the Foundation’s mission.
The Amalfi Foundation (AF) is on a mission to “elevate underserved communities at home and abroad” through two primary pillars: basic needs and community development. AF has partnered with local organizations to assist in providing food and other essentials to the community, while also providing opportunities to those in need by investing in people’s upward mobility and their path to a brighter future.
One initiative I am passionate about is The Tanzania Primary School initiative. This is an initiative to raise funds to build a primary school in Arusha, Tanzania to serve over 300 students. Only 58% of children in Tanzania attend primary school, with only 28% attending secondary school. There are over 300 students in the Maasai tribe unable to attend primary school, so AF is building one on donated Maasai land next to a soon-opening secondary school, giving students a direct path from kindergarten to secondary school. AF will also fund the salaries of local teachers, daily meals for students and staff, and transportation costs to and from the school.
The Student Leadership Accelerator program is a leadership development program in addition to being a fundraising campaign. I have been preparing for this fundraiser for the past 5 weeks by planning, strategizing, attending meetings, and building my network.
There are a few ways you can support me on my journey to make a difference:
-Make a donation via my fundraising page https://lnkd.in/dKAJydeC
-Share my fundraising link & story on social media and with friends and family.
-Connect me with businesses that could potentially sponsor my campaign and form a partnership with the foundation.
Donations can consist of:
- Money donations
- Business Sponsorships
- An auction item
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. With your support, we are truly going to make an incredible impact on both our local and global community!

"Without education I would have died" - Augustin Kwesi Fosu (aka my dad)."
Imagine a world where your birthplace dictates your future. Now, imagine changing that narrative, one child at a time. This is the heart of our mission at the Work Meaningful Foundation, inspired by a profound truth shared by my father, Augustin Kwesi Fosu: 'Without education, I would have died.' These words aren't just a metaphor; they encapsulate a journey from a small village in Akyremade, Ghana, to global stages, including professorships and roles at the United Nations.
My father was once a child in dire circumstances, whose life was transformed by education. Today, we stand on the precipice of creating a multitude of stories like his, but we need your help to turn this vision into reality.
Our mission began with a dream and the first level of a school that now stands as a beacon of hope in Akyremade. We are now on a mission to complete the second level, and we're nearly there. With just a little over $40,000 needed, your support can help us unlock the potential of countless children, offering them a future they can only dream of.
How can you join this transformative journey?
1. Donate: Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to our goal.
2. Attend our 'Wine and Wonder Event: Join us on March 2, June 1, or November 16 for an evening of inspiration and connection.
3. Experience our Cultural Gala and Fundraiser: Mark your calendar for September 19th in Charlotte, for a night that promises to be unforgettable.
4. Spread the Word: Share our story and mission with someone who, like you, believes in the power of education to change lives.
Your support doesn't just build a school; it builds futures, dreams, and a world where every child has the chance to rise above their circumstances. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us, for believing in the transformative power of education, and for being part of this life-changing journey. Together, we can create endless stories of hope and success, just like my father's.

Empowering the Future: We're thrilled to announce our proud sponsorship of the Inaugural Go Girls 100km Challenge!
Imagine a day where girls from all walks of life unite for a common cause. On Thursday, 17 October at the Melbourne Sports Centre in Albert Park, Year 9 and 10 girls from schools across Victoria will join forces to empower young women through education. With every stride, they will raise awareness and funds to support programs for women at risk, enabling them to pursue their dreams and shape brighter futures.
The Go Girls 100km Challenge is more than just an event – it’s a movement. A movement that shatters limitations, fosters perseverance and celebrates every milestone. This spirit of determination and community empowerment is what we embody at Exeden.
Why is this event so important? Because it's not just about the kilometres. It's about empowering women, fostering resilience, and breaking down barriers. This aligns perfectly with our core belief that uplifting disadvantaged and underrepresented talent transforms communities.
At Exeden, our mission is more than just a statement – it's embedded in our DNA. Every dollar we generate, and every step we take, goes towards uplifting those who need it most across four key causes that have personally touched our lives. In fact, we donate 100% of our annual dividends to organisations committed to making a difference. Our sponsorship of this event is important to us as it aligns with our commitment to drive impactful change where it matters most.
Join us in supporting this incredible initiative. Together, we can walk the talk, championing not just the journey ahead but the countless lives we can change along the way.
But the Go Girls team and the amazing participants can't do it alone. They need YOU. Rise with them by donating or supporting the Go Girls 100km Challenge. Every contribution propels them forward; every action amplifies our impact.
Please donate now and be a part of the change!
Let's not just challenge the norms. Let's tackle them head-on. Let's build a world together where purpose and empowerment lead the way.

Grenzebach Glier and Associates – GG+A's webinar with Ann Snyder highlighting "Insights on Independent School Philanthropy" was interesting. (Link in comments)
A couple important takeaways from #CASE data:
- In 2022, $5.2B was raised.
- Less than 2.2% of donors were responsible for nearly 77% of giving.
- Median $$ per student raised was highest among girls' institutions ($8,493/day schools) and ($21,714/boarding schools).
- Median $$ per school raised was highest at co-ed boarding schools ($4,861,029) and day schools for boys ($6,371,660)
Elizabeth (Liz) Kolb Farr shared that for annual giving -- boards typically comprise 20-30% of total. For campaigns, boards often support at 30%+ of the total.
Another interesting fact was that the average independent school advancement office has 7.1 FTEs.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Austin at Council for Advancement and Support of Education's annual conference. Today is #GivingTuesday, the day where people are encouraged to give to the causes they believe in.
😮Education needs change. Underserved children are twice as likely to underachieve in science and maths than their non-underserved peers. School systems perpetuate inequalities in accessing science, fail to provide diverse role models and tend to neglect one of the greatest assets of children with a migrant background: multilingualism. It does not have to be this way.
💛At Native Scientists, we are on a mission to help underserved children achieve their full potential, no matter what their background is. And we are doing it through science education. At @nativescientists, we’ve transformed #GivingTuesday into a #GivingChallenge and we are raising €10,000 to ignite the future of an additional 200 children so that they have the confidence and role models to believe that what they aspire to do is possible. 🚀
We’re a non-profit organisation and donations help us run our volunteer-led, award-winning science workshops in communities and schools all across the UK/EUROPE, encouraging and empowering children from underserved communities to imagine a career path that helps them realise their potential. But we’re only getting started and we want to do more, we must do more. 🧪✨
By joining the #GivingChallenge with a donation today, you’ll embark on a journey with Native Scientists, a journey of driving positive social changes and making science and higher education a possibility for children.

Great comments from Restore Hope about the impact that the funding from #AngelsDen 2023 had on their work!
'We were pitching for support in seeing our Community Hub come to life in Amersham through robust research and evaluation. In the months since then we have been able to have conversations with:
- More than 50 professionals, service providers, church leaders, council members, local authority representatives
- More than 25 Families and young people
- Participated in 9 different local working groups
- 300+ individuals attended our public consultation open day (we expected 30 people!)
- 118 respondents to our public survey
- Restore Hope’s Young Volunteers programme participants
The result of this work has been strong encouragement for our development plans as well as an understanding of the current need in the area:
- 99% of respondents agree that ‘A Community Hub for our local community to gather and seek support for the ups and downs of life’ is important
- 98% agree that the redevelopment of St John’s into a Community Hub is a good use for the space and that it will benefit the local area
- From a list of 12 items the Top four greatest needs identified were- Youth Provision (48% of respondents), Wellbeing and Mental Health (42%), Family Support (38%) and Advice and Guidance (35%)
- Additionally a number of free response comments identified a need to support the elderly, and provide opportunities for intergenerational gathering.
All this research has been possible because of the Angels Den grant, and we are now in a position to move forward with our planning of the Community Hub based on empirical data. We expect this robust research and evaluation will open doors to further conversations around funding, partnerships and programming for the new site in Amersham.'

🎯The Journey Back to School
💧During one of our tours to find out-of-school children, we met three amazing kids: Sabu Adelakun, Jamal Adelakun, and Rhodia Adelakun.
💧Jamal is in Primary 2, Sabu is in Primary 1, and Rhodia is in JSS1. They were getting ready to sell buns to help their family when we arrived.
💧Their mother, a single mom, told us about her struggles. Because of money problems, she had to take her kids out of school so they could help earn money for the family.
💧After talking with her, we convinced her to let Jamal, Sabu, and Rhodia go back to school during school hours.
💧The children were so excited to hear they could return to school. Since then, they have made great progress.
💧The last slide is the picture of this remarkable children in their uniform on their first day of resumption
💧Jamal, who is in my class, has become one of my best students. He shows great leadership skills by helping to share materials and helping his classmates understand some topics.
💧But we need your help to keep them in school next session.
💧You can support Jamal, Sabu, and Rhodia by donating using the link below:
