In a press conference yesterday, Tourism Fiji, in partnership with the Fijian Drua and Market Development Facility, unveiled the case study on Sport Tourism in Fiji, showcasing the tremendous success of the Fijian Drua Season 2023. Key Findings: - Record-breaking attendance of 58,942 at Fijian Drua Season 2023, with 21% international visitors. - Direct expenditure reached FJD$67.1 million, creating 9,774 local jobs (equivalent to 242 full-time jobs). - International visitors spend an average of FJD$6,837, contributing to a total expenditure of FJD$40 million. - 4,676 new visitors generate 40,328 overseas visitor nights. The study indicates substantial domestic benefits, contributing FJD$11.5 million to local incomes and creating 242 full-time jobs.
