I was just on Nepal in May with Community Homestay Network experiencing their incredible model of community tourism. I just completed my own take on Community Tourism and agree it is incredible and the best way to experience a place sustainably and memorably. Thanks for the great article!

Like the blog says, community-based tourism is niche. I think becoming aware of it as a traveler is the first step. From there, it's adding it as an early criteria when trip planning. I think right now it takes more time and it's hard to know where to start, but the Meaningful Travel Map is a great tool. I'm excited to see how that grows! I was looking at APE Malaysia this morning and it's getting me excited about all the great opportunities out there. I think once people hit the "highlights" of travel, they will seek out more meaningful experiences (hopefully) and not just do it for the gram.

Thanks for sharing the article .It's very interesting . Community tourism in Nepal is very experiential. Travellers around the world are offered an exclusive immersive experience which proves to be a life time experience for them. Its a powerful tool which uplift community development in the long run and also ultimately help travellers travel meaningful and experience the place sustainably. There are many interesting communities and their unique stories in #Nepal to share with the travellers . I have been in community tourism for almost a decade and am involved in preparing host communities ,training ,creating products and preparing communities to showcase their offerings for travellers Working so close with community stakeholders at grassroot level made me realise that there is a strong need for empowering these communities for personal development through education and training . We cannot simply push community tourism to them as improper preparation leads to worst travellers experience. I am also looking for Collaborations for developing this important system in #Nepal #Himalayanvoluntourism #Connectingcommunities
