do what you preach... Yesterday I spent 2 1/2 hours skiing on Grouse Mountain, then changed to my snowshoes for another 2 1/2 hours of pretty hard hiking to Thunderbird Ridge and back over Dam Mountain. Plenty of time to practice some Continuous Improvement and think about the next evolution of my Roots, Rocks and Results program for Operational and Organizational Change. What's worked well, what are some shortcomings, how can I improve delivery to my clients, and further improve the success rate by my clients? All of us need to step back once in a while, evaluate what we do and decide what we can improve and how. #continuousimprovement

Sometimes you’ve got to go for it— almost like a child— a little less thinking a little more yes-ing. After a year+ long hiatus from the east coast slopes— found myself out west for the first time this week skiing Breckenridge with my cousins and uncle (who are fantastic skiers)… They agreed to take a few runs down some easier blues to warm up. An hour or so later I was asked, “Ready to head up to Peak 6?” I replied quickly trying to eliminate thoughts of the 12,500 ft elevation and what would be there waiting for me, “Alright.” Would I have gone up there otherwise? Not likely. #Comfortzones seem to grow greater as we age. They show up at work, in our decision-making, in the relationships we seek out, in the risks we will or won’t take— and even on the mountain! 🏔️ Sometimes we need the slightest prompt to answer a Q we wouldn’t have asked ourselves in order to experience something new, create learnings, maximize our opportunities. An #executivecoach is someone you’ll find in your corner who knows the right moments to ask you whether you’re “ready to head to Peak 6”. Let me take you to Peak 6. Here comes the Easter holidays - I’m off skiing into Norway over the Swedish mountains, staying in huts with warm log fires; whilst spending the day in crisp blue skies and floating over expanses of white good (in reality: low visibiity, heavy snow, and several curse words about the cold and poor choice of glide waxes… :) ). In my head, I’ll be continuing to crack this “what is value?” problem. I’ll be building out from the follow base, which drives my “the progress economy” thinking: “Let’s explore value. It’s a fundamental driver of how we perceive the world around us. Our understanding shapes our beliefs about who creates it, how, and when. Such perspectives have far-reaching implications for how we approach, and succeed with, innovation. We’ll navigate through three models of value, each offering insights and solutions to the challenges of its predecessor: * value-in-exchange * value-in-use * value-through-progress”

🌲 How Does Embracing the Outdoors Fuel Your Growth Mindset? 🌲 Hey there LinkedIn fam! Just had an amazing day skiing at Panorama for my son's birthday, and it got me thinking. The great outdoors teach us so much about resilience, adaptability, and the beauty of unpredictability. Life, like the changing weather, throws curveballs at us, and it's all about how we swing at them that shapes our growth. Every fall, every laugh, every time we get back up and soar down the mountain again, we do it a little faster and with more confidence. How are you challenging yourself in nature today? 🎿🏔️ #NatureTeachesGrowth #SkiAdventure #LifeLessons #Resilience #Adaptability

Head of Professional Partnerships at CH4B - Central Hub 4 Business | Recruiting and Coordinating Expert Partners to Create a One-Stop Destination 4 all Business Needs
Some of the comments about Tim Marovt and his INCREDBILE achievements both in his recovery from a spinal cord injury and in his *multiple* marathon completions are not a vibe. First and foremost, Tim is a true testament to resilience, dedication and the power of mindset - he is an inspiration. But this is where I caveat, he's not an inspiration because of his challenges, but rather in spite of his challenges. Comments like "Does anyone want to moan about how hard their day looks today? Let’s get on with it, and be thankful." Are not supportive, motivational or inspirational. They are derogatory and potentially harmful. If you have to focus on someone else's challenges or struggles to give yourself a boost, you have some work to do on yourself. When you speak about disabled people this way it invalidates their experience, their contributions, their existence even. Comments like this minimise struggles and promote toxic positivity whilst reinforcing ableism. You should be deriving inspiration from his commitment, tenacity, and unrivalled drive, not comparing abilities.

A message for today’s London Marathon runners (and for anyone needing a bit of inspiration right now): Have you seen this video of Tim Marovt? Tim was told he'd never walk again. Yet, there he is, crossing the finish line of a marathon. Let that one sink in for a moment. Tim's story is a powerful reminder that the human spirit is capable of extraordinary things. So, if that self-doubt creeps in, channel your inner ‘Tim’. Every early morning run, every hurdle overcome - that's your strength. Remember the journey that brought you to this very starting line. This is YOUR moment to shine ✨
