This summer my team and I hired 550 seasonal employees in two months... There are three secrets to our success that I'd love to share with you below. Want them?? Here you go... 👇 🔑 1. You need to go to them... they aren't interested in putting in the work to find you. 2. There are a lot of competitors out there so your pay and perks need to stand out against the rest. 3. Flexibility is key within the hourly and shift-based workforce. You may need to the change the way you operate to be successful in hiring. I have a legitimate question for all managers that deal with hiring. I understand it's 2023. And things are a little different than when they used to be. But when you see on a resume, a non-traditional job. Do you take the resume seriously? I'm hiring for an entry level position. And for example, I see people listing Uber as a 2 and 3 year job. (Side note I have seen people list only fans and Instagram as a job. Those go in the trash.) With non-traditional jobs and work from home jobs. What are your thoughts on it when hiring? This week we’ve gone live with another newly created role within our Customer Operations team (we’re looking for a Restaurant Team Member to join our newly appointed Chef Manager at our beautiful Steepleton development in Tetbury🧑🏻🍳) I’m not sharing because I think LinkedIn is the right place to advertise this role, it isn’t but it set me thinking about some of our current stats and I thought I’d share… ⭐️77% of our current open vacancies are newly created roles ⭐️The remaining 23% are open as a result of internal moves ⭐️Since 1st July we’ve successfully hired 14 great new permanent starters, only one of those has been to replace someone leaving the business ⭐️100% of those 14 hires have come via internal moves, employee referrals or direct applications, with the highest percentage of applications coming via our own careers page (37.5%) I’m really encouraged by those numbers, I think it demonstrates… 🌱Although the property industry as a whole is experiencing some tough times we’re growing and strengthening some of our teams to improve what we do, ultimately providing the best possible service to our home owners & renters 🌱People enjoy working for us, our positive culture and enhanced benefits packages help to attract, and retain the best talent, and makes our great people want to refer other great people! 🌱The behind the scenes recruitment ‘stuff’ that can be hard to measure…positive candidate experiences, focusing on removing unconscious bias from our adverts to attract more diversity, working closely with our hiring teams, improving processes, raising brand awareness….it’s all working 🙌🏼 In truth I’m not a numbers person but I’m enjoying watching our data reflect our goals📉 It’s easy to be totally focused on what’s ahead, what the future looks like, what vacancies are coming next but actually sometimes it’s good to pause and take a look back and see what we’ve achieved🙌🏼 Cheers to that🥂

But as incredible as their brownies are, it's not their most important export. They are working to create 40,000 job opportunities and $3 billion of economic impact through open hiring by 2030.
