2024 marks the Birth Centenary of our Founder, Late Shri Uttambhai Nathalal Mehta (U. N. Mehta). Born on 14th January 1924, he is remembered for his strong resolve, principled life, and humanitarian philosophy. At Torrent, his Birth Centenary is a momentous occasion as we celebrate his contributions to business and society. The key highlights of the centenary celebrations were the screening of “The Prescription,” a documentary film on his life, and the announcement of a charitable donation to honor his legacy. Over the next 5 years, commencing from 1st April 2024, Mehta family & Torrent Group will donate a sum of Rs 5,000 crores (Rupees Five Thousand Crores) to the UNM Foundation. This contribution will be over and above the statutory CSR contributions of the Torrent Group companies.
