principal Planning Consultant @ Planning Services UK, Small enough to care, large enough to get the job done!

I’m I the only one who thinks Authority Planners forget they supply a paid service? When I worked for a local authority, my boss encouraged me to interact with agents for mutually beneficial results. I also don’t get the argument that they are too busy, as I did around 430 applications in a year! Now they want to validate and determine with no interaction. I don’t want to name the local authorities involved, but if you are a head of planning, please actively encourage your planners to engage with agents/ applicants! #planningpermission #planning #townplanner #townplanning #developmentmanagement

I agree Tommy, there is little or no accountability for the quality of the planning service across Scotland compared with the cost to applicants. John Watchman (SPEL editor) has written many articles about the efficiency of the service over the years. Worth a read.
