Very Interesting post. The future of cancer treatment is bright, especially with advancements like CAR T-cell therapy. India's Breakthrough: In October 2023, India approved its first CAR T-cell therapy, making it more accessible to patients. First Indigenous Therapy: Tata Memorial Hospital developed the first indigenous CAR-T cell therapy, offering a more affordable option (42 lakhs vs. 4 crores overseas). While a lifelong cure is yet to be determined, it provides significant hope for many. Paving the Way for Affordability: India's efforts are crucial in making CAR T-cell therapy accessible to low- and middle-income countries. US Pharmacopeia (USP) is committed to supporting such initiatives in South Asia, promoting quality across all medical products, including CAR T-cell therapies.
