Every day, we should all strive to be more like drunk girls in a bathroom.
And before you think I’ve lost my mind and posted this on the wrong social media platform, I want you to keep reading.
No one is more sincere, personable, and pleasant than a drunk girl in a bathroom, and here are the reasons why we should should strive to be more like them personally and professionally.
•Helpful: Wardrobe malfunction? Hair mishap? Drunk girls in a bathroom will have super glue, bobby pins, and more than likely a mini sewing kit. In a professional setting, lend help to those who are struggling. Lessen the workload for your teams when you can. You never know what someone has going on outside of work, and if you have the capacity and time to reduce their burden, you most certainly should.
•Praise: “You’re so gorgeous!” “Your hair is amazing!” Now, I’m not saying we should tell our coworkers these exact things, but give praise when praise is due! If I have team members meet a deadline on a hard deliverable, go above and beyond for a client, etc., I’m going to praise them and make sure they know how much they are appreciated.
•Honesty: A drunk girl in the bathroom will answer, “does my make up look ok?” in the most honest and nicest way possible. In a work setting, we need to be honest with each other, while being as kind as possible. Be transparent with your clients. Your team isn’t able to meet a deliverable? Honestly share this information without getting emotional. Bad news does not get better by remaining silent. Be transparent and communicate.
I truly believe you’ll never find more support, camaraderie, and honesty than you will in a bathroom full of drunk girls. And what is so magical about this, is how selfless these interactions are. Drunk girls help each other without expecting anything in return. Let’s strive to lift others up and the world will be a better place.
