Please join us in welcoming two longtime community leaders to the Tidelands Health board of trustees. Tony Cox, a retired Myrtle Beach real estate executive, and Ray Funnye, director of public services for Georgetown County, have joined the 23-member board. Board members volunteer their time and expertise to serve as stewards of our not-for-profit health system. “Tony and Ray bring decades of experience, distinguished leadership and dedicated community service to our Tidelands Health board of trustees,” said J. Edward Norris III, chairman of the board. “Their insight and expertise will be invaluable as our board collectively continues to shape our strategic vision to meet the needs of our fast-growing region.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/eiXxbnA7

Did you know we have U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) representation across all 6 Boards in the Eastern Region, including Baltimore, Boston, Newark, New York City, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia? HUDs presence on our Boards plays a crucial role in fostering federal partnerships, which was highlighted during last month’s FEB Eastern Region “Fostering Friday” session featuring RA Juana B. Matias During these presentations, we invite federal leaders to share their agency’s mission and objectives with our team, helping us to identify key issues and build awareness for more effective collaboration. The FEBs consistently strive to create opportunities to discover how we can most successfully support the federal agencies we partner with. Thank you again, RA Juana Matias, for discussing HUD’s essential work with us. As RA Matias emphasized during her presentation, “we really cannot do this work alone… these kinds of partnerships are essential to us reaching our customers and getting communities connected with our resources.” We look forward to working with HUD on future initiatives and applying our enhanced understanding of their mission and objectives to help them achieve their goals. Previous Fostering Fridays have featured conversations with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Region 2 - New York, HHS's FDA - Office of Regulatory Affairs, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Protective Service Region 3 - Mid-Atlantic Southern District #FEBSouth #FEBEast #FEBWest #FEBCentral #FEB #FederalGovernment

Over the last two years, Blue Cross NC, led by our CEO, Tunde Sotunde, embarked on our Extra Miles Tour. This was an effort to get out of our offices, hit the road (we traveled more than 11,000 miles!) and #listen to the communities and people we #serve. I’m proud to share with you Blue Cross NC's Extra Miles Tour report. This was no ordinary listening tour. The conversations and experiences we had along the way are helping us think outside the box. We're exploring how we engage with the communities we serve and where there are new opportunities to convene and collaborate. This report outlines some of the key takeaways from our journey. The lessons and observations gathered here (plus the great ideas that we couldn’t share in such a limited space) are helping us create the roadmap for our work ahead and providing a better picture of where to focus resources and energies. This report represents an important milestone, but it isn’t a wrap-up by any stretch of the imagination. It’s the first step in the next leg of our journey to make health care better for all. Stay tuned to see what's next! https://lnkd.in/dd4JZThf
