Ways to help those affected by Helene
Owner of BOCO Creative | I create websites and content for businesses ready to explode their reach and sales | Greenville, SC
Devastation hit the southeast almost 1 week ago but the damage is still prevalent in many areas. My community in the Upstate of South Carolina was hit, however it pales in comparison to the impact Helene left on Western NC and Eastern TN. The images and stories coming out of these areas are gut wrenching. There is much work to be done. There are dozens of initiatives going on right now to support our neighboring states. Consider donating/volunteering if you can and if not, send love and prayers to the millions impacted by this storm. So many lives lost and so many still missing/trapped/unaccounted for💔 Visit City of Greenville, South Carolina website for information on storm recovery updates and where you can go if you need supplies or help. There is also information about getting disaster assistance. Visit Samaritan's Purse website to make a donation for relief efforts. Reno Omokri, thanks for your donation. I will appreciate it if you can go one more step by doing your research on how the fund will be managed. One of the major issues in Nigeria is mismanagement of public funds. How can the public be given the assurance that the donated funds will be directed to achieve the set objectives? There should be transparency and regular communication on the amount of fund received and how it’s disbursed. #floodDisaster #BornoState #Donation
To God be the glory, I fulfilled my vow to donate half a million to the official Borno State Flood Disaster Relief fund. This is only an initial donation. More will be forthcoming after meeting with my extended family. I urge the public to consider donating their widows' mites to this effort. Nothing is too small. Even if it is ₦50, please still donate it. If anyone donates a minimum of ₦500,000, I pledge to send you a signed copy of any of my books you want and video call you on my personal line to thank you. Please comment under this post with your receipt. Please make your donations to: BORNO ST. FLOOD DISASTER RELIEF Bank: Zenith Bank Acc Number: 1313556361 Thank you, and may God bless you.

If you want to support those in Asheville recovering from #Helene but are concerned about how your donations will be used, please reach out to me. I'll be making a few more runs delivering water to locations that are distributing to people in our community directly. As donation drives start to wind up for Hurr Helene relief, I wanted to share the below message and remind folks that, although well intentioned, your unsolicited donations will CAUSE more problems for responders and relief organizations than they will solve. If you want to truly help, don't clean out your garage or go shopping, send cash. How to Help After Hurricane Helene - adapted from a FEMA message on September 29, 2024: THERE IS NO REQUEST FOR DONATIONS OUTSIDE OF CASH. Do not send unsolicited donated goods, and please do not self-deploy. Cash donations are the most effective way to help after a disaster. National VOAD members and partners are assisting communities in need. National VOAD members and partners will serve these communities as long as necessary. Here are some of the organizations providing support to people who experienced loss from the storm: · Alabama – Alabama VOAD (alvoad.org) · Florida – FLVOAD (wpengine.com) · Georgia – Georgia VOAD (gavoad.org) · Kentucky – Kentucky Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (kentuckyvoad.org) · North Carolina – North Carolina Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (ncvoad.org). · South Carolina – https://lnkd.in/eXYwZsrT. · Tennessee – Tennessee VOAD (tnvoad.org)

World Vision staff is on the ground responding to Hurricane Helene. We've already shipped two truckloads of pre-positioned goods, including hygiene products, clothing, and children's toys, and are coordinating with our local partner network to reach the most vulnerable children and families in affected areas. WAYS TO HELP Companies: Request a branded fundraising page to provide a way for your employees and customers to give (and consider matching any donations that come in). Product donations may also be useful both in this initial response phase, and in future rebuilding phases of relief efforts. You can also make cash grants to support our relief work. Individuals: Make a donation here https://lnkd.in/gvC3iNJ #hurricanehelene #florida #asheville #florida #tennessee #Northcarolina #disasterelief #disasterresponse #worldvision #worldvisionusa #hea #flooding #hurricane #howyoucanhelp

Update: Convoy Of Hope is working on mobilizing more semi trucks of relief supplies to Carolinas. Below is a breakdown of how every donation at any level helps bring relief and hope. Not everyone is able to donate funds…that’s ok. Please keep them in your prayers. If we all join together as we are able, we can make a difference in the lives of many. $10 helps provide essential relief supplies to a family of four. $15 helps create a family hygiene kit. $33 helps provide essential relief supplies to a family of four for a day. $50 helps provide a relief bucket. $225 helps provide essential relief supplies to a family of four for a week. $30,000 helps send a semi truck to a disaster site. (One semi trailer carries an average of $90,000 worth of relief supplies to a disaster zone.) Donate here: https://lnkd.in/grNsJ2eW

#GEM partner #BStrong Bethenny Frankel - I activate when I am passionate about something and believe I can make a significant impact. I have spent a significant period of my life in Florida and I have seen this state and the south overall weather the most treacherous of storms. This is a bad one and people will lose lives, homes, pets, dignity and will suffer a tremendous blow. Donations have started to come in and it will require a meaningful amount to help these communities rebuild. We have a Miami warehouse filled to aid in all aspects of a relief and recovery effort. This is a model I created atter Hurricane Maria so we would always be ready to load and distribute aid immediately. This aid is donated from our trusted loyal partners. We have also implemented the "crisis kit" model to be distributed to families and individuals so they have the basic essentials to survive the first phase of a disaster. I created the cash card model many disasters ago so we can provide families with the dignity to purchase what they need while infusing money back into their communities. 100% of your donations will go to the effort. No matter where you donate please do your research and understand exactly and precisely where every single penny goes. We have now seen hundreds of circumstances where big name orgs and celebrities raise money with no follow through, transparency, or proof that the end user has received these funds as you intend. Sadly, this space is littered with fraud as people are the most careless and chaotic during times of disaster. Thanks for your love and support. Thanks to Global Empowerment Mission for efficiently executing the most treacherous of relief efforts. THIS IS A CRISIS. DONATE: Bethenny.com/BStrong #Bstrong #hurricanehelene #relief #globalempowermentmission #donate #thisisacrisis #disasterrelief

Donations management is often referred to as the “Disaster Within a Disaster” as it takes a tremendous amount of resources to organize, categorize, store, and distribute physical goods. If you want to help those in western North Carolina and others impacted by #Helene, stick to cash donations to reputable organizations like the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army, or to local organizations supporting response and recovery efforts (h/t to Becky DePodwin, MSEM for this link): https://lnkd.in/gZrNFFXK This ensures the right resources get to those who need them most, while not pulling critical resources to sort through your lightly used clothes.
As a remindered , cash is best when advising folks how to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene National VOAD Members and Partners are currently assisting communities in need due to the impact of Hurricane Helene through the Southeast United States. National VOAD members and Partners will continue to serve these communities as long as is necessary. There is currently no request for donations outside of cash. Please do not send unsolicited donated goods. https://lnkd.in/g3Sje6VK
