Apparently some companies today have a pre hiring training program to test out candidates in the office or workplace, for 2 to 3 days in order to choose competent candidates and perhaps to filter out those who work for 2 days and cabut...... I thnk it is a win win situation where the candidate will get an allowance while trying out a new work environment (don't resign first OK, tell your boss you are taking leave to take care of your 3rd grandmother in your hometown for 3 days) And the company, can decide whether or not to hire the candidate after 2 or 3 days of trial period. We should consider this for the hospitality industry as it would be great for positions that require technical knowledge such as maintenence, chefs (we do food tastings etc but how many of us test them on their paperwork?) or even a front office employee (but you said you are an expert in Opera!) For other positions such as sales managers, we could perhaps test them on that first 2 days on how they would prepare an event order.......
