The Half You Hate In "The Half You Hate," we delve into the emotional journey of an aspiring actress grappling with the complexities of familial relationships. During a pivotal showcase rehearsal, she seeks approval her tutor and her father. Meanwhile, she faces the challenging task of mending her strained relationship with her mother. As the narrative of the play within the film mirrors her own life experiences, it becomes a cathartic exploration of her past. This reflection forces her to confront deep-seated resentments and insecurities. It's a compelling depiction of how art can influence and mimic real life, providing a platform for healing and understanding. This powerful story of personal growth and artistic expression is not just about the struggles of an actor. It resonates with anyone who has ever faced the challenge of balancing professional aspirations with the complexities of family dynamics. What are the weekends for? WATCHING MORE FILMS! Team Thulsa is obviously fanatic about films and this week we watched ‘Dune Part 2’ & ‘Poor Things’. Side by side these two films perfectly demonstrate the depth in versatility and nuance that filmmaking can achieve. As we press forth through our own filmmaking odyssey, Thulsa is excited by the landscape of films we have before us and grateful to those we have made already. We look forward to sharing more news with you soon. Until there, please make good films. Love Thulsa (Image: I could also wear a suit)

In light of a tweaked rebrand and imminent new website and client reach, Team Thulsa has been reflecting upon 4 years of grit. Outlasting a pandemic in our infancy, producing over 40 shorts and two features, as well as our Creative Director winning an Emmy as Associate Producer for a third feature. It's apparent that this is an industry of constant growth in an ever changing landscape, and the odds are stacked against us in this industry. Art/filmmaking without a strong business acumen isn't sustainable... it's just painful. However one 'consistent' is the need for good stories and when given the opportunity, that's all we ask at Thulsa, 'please make good films'. And so after a busy few weeks with lawyers, admin and tweaking our workflow we are of course excited for the future... yet we are incredibly grateful to be in this moment where all things align and our hard work has come to fruition. It isn't possible to experience constant euphoria, yet we are delighted to have created a sustainable model for filmmakers & financiers and a new approach to true independent cinema. Love, Thulsa

We are shouting about this once again, loud and proud! The UK film industry has a strengthened potential to reignite independent film. This isn’t the complete answer to all your filmmaking problems You’ll still need a smart business model and ultimately if you’re model is built on debt finance you’ll likely encounter the same problems. However, this is a BIG step in the right direction and those with initiative can use the additional percentage to pioneer excellent results. 40% back from your film is incredible. Here at Thulsa we’ve managed to push that to 50% If you are curious to know more, drop us a message. https://lnkd.in/guvm3tRH

40% tax credit for British films! The recent wonderful news of an increased tax credits for British film, tv and video games is game changer. It allows a ‘True’ indie spirit to prevail and should welcome a new wave of indie filmmakers throughout the country and internationally. We’ve doubled done on this wonderful news with our slate of films at Thulsa, by securing an additional 5% annual interest for equity investors.
