A friend reminded me of an exchange we had a few years ago when he was concerned about the cost of adding a new team member. It went something like: Q: “What will hiring this person do to the bottom line?” A: “Good question, but first, what will hiring this person do to the top line?” Whether or not the person will fill a “revenue generating” role, the top line question requires thinking about the team fit, culture contribution, and growth of the organization. It was a good reminder! #thinkdifferently #godeeper #leadwell
