Well I am sure this will create some heated debate. Guess what, they are not entirely wrong. It is the age old debate about ease of use vs security. Cases like this will force tighter security with every online service, and that's not a bad thing. If fault is to be placed on 23andMe, it's that they should assume that people will not secure themselves and mandate 2FA. Think about that on your internal environment and how much you assume your users will do vs mandate that they will do. -Every one of the original 14000 users had the option to turn on 2FA but didn't do it. -Every one of the original 14000 users reused usernames and passwords that had already been stolen from somewhere else. -Everybody else in the 6.9 million elected to trust a certain amount of their information to 14000 people that reuse passwords and don't enable 2FA. #enable2FA #2fa #onlinesecurity
