It was great to attend the VC Platform conference last week in beautiful Miami!  This was my second time attending and I'm constantly amazed at how friendly and welcoming the VC Platform community is. Kudos to the VC Platform Global Community for putting together such an awesome event! The conference emphasized the power of expanding your network through smaller group discussions. I led a discussion on supporting high performers amid budget pressures. The three big takeaways from the discussion were:  1. Make sure the high performer has a strong team around them to continue to challenge them.  2. Make sure the high performer has clarity in their role on what it takes to succeed. 3. Think community. Help these high performers surround themselves with peers outside their company that they can learn from. 

* Tis the season * As I gear up to moderate multiple sessions at the upcoming DeviceTalks Boston 2024 #medtech conference, I'm reminded of the unique opportunity and responsibility that comes with this privilege. It's not just about keeping the discussion on track; it's about creating a dynamic and engaging environment where ideas can flourish and maybe even be challenged. Here's my personal approach to making each session a memorable experience: ✅ Building a connection with panelists: Before the conference, I'll meet with the panelists. This isn't just preparation; it's about forming a bond that will translate into a more cohesive and engaging panel discussion. ✅ Facilitating, not just moderating: My goal is to be more than a timekeeper. I aim to be a facilitator who encourages lively yet respectful exchanges among panelists. ✅ Engaging the audience: Audience engagement is key. Fun fact: at DeviceTalks West I climbed down the stage in high heels just to bring the microphone directly into the audience myself.
