Content AND Context Are the Dynamic Duo of Media It's catchy to say that content isn't "king", or it's NOT about the content. But healthcare marketers know that's simply not true. Content matters. A lot. As healthcare communications people we know that patients and HCPs need up-to-date, evidence-based information and messages. But, equally, saying it's "all about the content" ignores the necessary contextual environment on where the consumer - aka the patient or caregiver in our business - engages with the sponsor message and advertising. For example, in pharma-land one of the great contextual environments is the HCP's office for what we call point of care advertising. The data shows how powerful messaging can be when it is the right content for the right patient in the precise right environment like an HCP's exam room. Yes, proclamations that media is "all about" one dimension are likely not wise, but the marriage of both content and context is media magic.
