There is a £22bn financial hole that needs fixing,” Rachel Reeves shared in her Commons Statement about her ‘fiscal inheritance’ from the Tories. At the heart of her presentation, Reeves emphasized that difficult decisions must be made because of the destructive rule of the Tories, leaving the country in, plainly put, a mess. Since the governmental change three weeks ago, the new ministers are left gobsmacked at the state of their departmental budgets. #UKEconomy #TheSocialTalks #News #UKNews #UKPolitics #Politics

What was the role of our next prime minister in the persecution of Julian Assange? There is a cover-up going on. But it will come out. Trust. @kennardmatt X Declassified UK ✌️☮️ Labour is on track to win big, risking an elective dictatorship under Keir Starmer, who could be unchecked in his power. Our strategy is simple: Keep the good ones: Vote for MPs who have a track record of supporting Palestinian rights (see our scorecard section). By keeping them in the party, we ensure there are voices to counterbalance Starmer’s dominance and keep him in line. Vote out the bad ones: We've analysed who is best placed to beat Labour in each constituency. By voting strategically for Greens, Lib Dems, Independents, or others, we can reduce Labour’s majority and prevent one-party dominance. Please visit https://lnkd.in/ek9vW2Ky

The infographic would also have to highlight the government’s total expenditure in the last 5 years including disbursements to Districts (DSIP) and Provinces (PSIP), the GDP growth, the GDP per capita and the total public debt accumulated in the last 5 years, and the debt to GDP ratio.

Free, in-person tickets open for our annual Gray's Inn Reading: Lord Falconer asks, Considering the last decade, has the UK Constitution worked or does it need reform? Book via: https://lnkd.in/eMnAJhSs ..................................... Does the UK’s constitution provide too much freedom for those that wish to abuse it? Specific examples of this might include Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s lawbreaking during COVID, the selection of Liz Truss as Prime Minister, the ability of the Government to force controversial policies (such as the Rwanda Bill) and the sacking of the Cabinet Secretaries and Permanent Secretaries. Or does the UK constitution, perhaps in contrast to that of the United States and many other nation states, provide relative freedom to remove unsuitable political and civil service leaders without relative domestic political trauma?
