The study highlights a significant uptick in disinformation campaigns, particularly in Latvia, coinciding with legislative changes related to civil partnerships and the Istanbul Convention. Despite the pervasive spread of misleading narratives, there is a silver lining: public acceptance of LGBTQ+ rights shows signs of gradual increase across the region. Did you know that more than 1 in 4 Gen Z adults in the U.S. identify as LGBTQ? 🌈 This new survey by PRRI reveals that a staggering 28% of Gen Z adults ages 18-25 identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer — highlighting a significant increase compared to older age groups. Moreover, the survey found that Gen Z adults are more ethnically diverse and less likely to affiliate with established religions. These findings underscore the importance of LGBTQ visibility and the need to protect LGBTQ rights amidst increasing challenges.
