I have always believed in KSA ( Knowledge. skill , Attitude) model to evaluate any candidate’s suitability for particular role. All the training & development interventions are planned to build capability in any of these areas. Recently I read about KASH model in a post from Prakash Iyer. H- Habit is new dimension added to KSA model, which is really well thought off. When I dwelled over it, This aspect truly differentiates the exceptional performer from good performer. Habits are traits & behaviours that are displayed continuously by any individual so much so that it becomes part of his personality. It becomes character and that is far more desired than just attitude. So anyone with right KSA & habitual of desired traits/ behaviour becomes suitable for that particular role.
Example- Cool headed leader. Anyone with all KSA tick box ✅ would not make him that person. Only when one has practiced this temperament for a long period of time , one who is aware about his mood swings & conscious of his reaction to the situations can become habitual cool headed leader.
