Writing out why I think something worked (or didn't) helps me improve my creative analysis and think more strategically. "Creating together allows us to get out of a one-track mind." That was something my colleague Rhys Maher said yesterday, and it really resonated with me. This quarter, I'm working on long-term plans for implementing Creative Sandpit Days at Finally Agency - safe, creative spaces where the Content and Design teams come together to ideate, challenge, develop, chat a decent amount of nonsense, and consume far too much caffeine. The last one we had was a roaring success. In just five hours together, we came up with two large, multi-dimensional, forward-thinking ideas that can massively impact our clients. Yesterday, I conducted Q&A sessions with Charlie Elms, Nathan Denny, Connor F., Klaudia Kowalska, and Rhys to find out how they felt about Creative Sandpit Days and the value they provide our agency, what challenges they can help us overcome, and what deliverables they can produce. To say their answers were helpful would be an understatement. I took so many notes, and wrote the word 'creative' so many times that I now feel like Will revising in THAT episode of The Inbetweeners ("Is this a word? It doesn't look right.") Suffice it to say, I'm very excited to start developing the plans further, and to make these interactive sessions a vital part of our agency's creative output.
