#Each day of life is a gift from God to be received with Joy and Gratitude !! #Important - Regarding the recent death of an employee at the firm EY due to overworking It has been #extremely disturbing and #concerning to read the recent letter of Anita Augustine where she described how her daughter Anna Sebastian Perayil passed away due to being made to overwork in a toxic work environment at her firm. There have also been several accounts of employees saying that this is a prevalent situation at many consultancies & other private firms. This is #UNACCEPTABLE! We have sufficient laws in our country for the protection of employees from unfair practices, being underpaid, & being made to work additional hours. Problem is that the govt, which is responsible for enforcing these laws, turns a blind eye when rich corporates & MNCs are involved. These #toxic work practices need to #STOP IMMEDIATELY at all private companies & employers. All #employees #deserve fair pay & regulated working hours. 🙏🙏🙏💔💔🥹🥹

Avoid the controversy or take a stand? It's high time that India implements strong labour rights. Most of the MNCs in India are exploiting employees. The chairman will always defend their company. It's a no brainer. The entire nation knows the truth of "Big 4". DECIDE YOUR EMPLOYER CAREFULLY! #EY #ey #anna #big4 #linkedin #worklifebalance

Anna’s Tragic Death Sheds Light on Toxic Corporate Bonds and India's Service Market Reality The Indian service market, known for its affordable labor, has attracted global giants, boosting employment. But at what cost? While we may not seek salary parity with global counterparts, the least we can ask for is equality in amenities and a healthy work environment. Anna’s tragic death at EY has exposed the reality of toxic work cultures, often concealed behind restrictive bonds and penalties that force employees to stay in unhealthy environments. Instead of trapping employees, companies should focus on creating supportive, positive workplaces where people stay because they want to, not because they have to. Parity in amenities and dignity in work is the least we deserve.

The recent news about EY toxic culture is a big alarm for workig proffessionals across india. Governments do nothing about it as they receive big party fundings from capitalists. They either worry about tax money or if this is affecting their vote bank. In india, The average working proffessional is expected to work for atleast 12-15 Hrs a day and 6 days a week, which is nothing but human exploitation. Even at the time of recruitment, if a skilled proffessional is having a gap in their career, may be because of personal problems, health issues, career transition, or just wanted to take a break, are made to feel guilty at the time of interview by recruiters. They always want to recruit people who spend 80% of their life working for them, not taking any break. They don't care of you have a personal life for you. Government should heavily penalize such employers, but before taking such action, every politician thinks that he is not going to get vote bank by doing these reforms. #ey #suicide #exploitation #workforce #techfirms #toxicworkculture

The tragic case of Anna Sebastian Perayil highlights the stark gap between India's cultural values and basic human rights. Despite being a country known for its deep-rooted sanskars (traditions) and cultural pride, instances like this expose the neglect of essential workplace rights and humane practices. In the 21st century, a major firm like EY India operating without a Shop Act licence for 17 years suggests a failure to enforce even basic protections for workers, such as reasonable working hours, safety, and fair treatment. This contradiction underscores how India, despite its rich heritage, can sometimes lag in implementing common-sense labor laws and ensuring humane treatment in corporate environments. The situation raises concerns about whether enough is being done to foster a work culture that prioritizes the well-being of individuals over profit. It brings attention to the need for more stringent labor reforms and better awareness of employee rights in order to align the nation's practices with global standards of humanity and decency. #big4 #ey #deloitte #kpmg #pwc #gt #bdo #finance #it #slaves #majdoor #slavery #compliance #legal #compliance #worklifebalance #culture #sanskaar #laborreforms #laws #murder #justice #8hours #workpressure #pressure #health #kill #justiceforana #humanbeing #human #inhuman #toxic #ca #pune #toxicworkculture #icai #tradition #safety #workculture #rights #wellbeing

Call for Action: Tragic Loss of #EY Employee Highlights Need for Systemic Change. It’s deeply concerning that an #EY India employee tragically took their life, raising urgent questions about workplace pressure and mental health support. This tragedy should serve as a wake-up call for corporations and government bodies in India. I urge the Indian Government and Human Rights Commission to investigate this matter thoroughly. It's time for stronger regulations to protect employee well-being and mental health in India, ensuring such a loss never happens again in India. #Justice for Anna Sebastian Perayil #MentalHealthMatters #WorkplaceReform #HumanRights #CorporateResponsibility #Congress #INC #BJP #DMK #NarendraModi #RahulGandhi Narendra Modi

Corporates are flavoring their leave policies with a 'Gift-a-leave policy', where employees are encouraged to gift their leaves that are not availed, to another employee during emergencies! What a way to promote a culture of camaraderie and collaboration! Companies like Deloitte, Marico, Persistent Systems, and BT Group India are already reaping the benefits of the policy. #dogoodfeelgood #camaraderie

Anna, a diligent employee of Ernst & Young (EY), tragically lost her life due to the crushing pressures of work, as shared by her mother in a heartfelt post. Her death has cast a harsh light on the toxic work environments that push employees to their limits without concern for their well-being. Rajiv Mermani, in a shameless defense of the company’s toxic culture, has argued that since other employees aren’t dying, the company bears no responsibility for Anna’s death. This callous dismissal ignores the increasing number of young professionals suffering both physically and mentally due to relentless workloads. Even falling ill or requesting time off is met with skepticism and threats of termination, highlighting a deeply unhealthy workplace culture. Mr. N.R. Narayana Murthy's earlier advocacy for professionals to work 14-hour days to drive corporate success is also brought into question in the wake of Anna’s demise. While ambition and dedication are important, this ideology has dangerous consequences when it leads to burnout, illness, and even death. Anna's passing serves as a tragic reminder that companies must prioritize the health and happiness of their employees. No organization’s success is worth the cost of a life, and it's time for the corporate world to take responsibility for the cultures they cultivate. https://lnkd.in/gkNAj_nj
