Our crowdfunding campaign for Pickled Rabbit is going steady and strong... As an independent film producer, we have to think of the creativity of the movie project but also build the audience and support for a movie so that, when it's done, it's not shown into a void. Pickled Rabbit is a short film destined for festivals. It's good, really good. But as a short it doesn't have the ability to attract traditional "investors", so a lot of the financing comes from donations, grants, and sponsorships. Crowdfunding is seeing a big resurgence because audience-supported films are what will give really great, unique projects like this a chance to succeed and be made at a high level. Remember John Keating's (Robin Williams) line from Dead Poet's Society: “We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me!
