🎢✨ From Disney's Queues to Career Clues:The Rollercoaster of Professional Growth!✨🎢 This weekend, I revisited Disney World for the first time since I was a toddler, accompanied by my family and close friends. The occasion? Celebrating my four-year-old's birthday in the realms of Magic Kingdom and Epcot! It was amazing and exhausting! But beyond the fun, what struck me was the complexity of navigating the "optimal Disney experience." From mastering the app, to strategizing with Lightning Passes and ride schedules, it was a lesson in efficiency and decision-making. 🚀 Here's where it got fascinating for me as a career coach: This experience paralleled the job search process. Just like at Disney, having a guide in your career - someone who's been through it, who can offer best practices - can transform the journey. It makes it less stressful, more enjoyable, and far more efficient. With our friends who were Disney veterans, our adventure was not just enjoyable but made me think. 🌟Great reminder!🌟 It took me 7 years of pursuit before I landed my dream job at Disney (and lots of rejection in between 😳). Here I am, 16 years later and still lovin it at Disney. My 16 year Disney Anniversary as a Cast Member was March 20th!🥳 I was a temp for 6 months prior at Disney in the Casting dept, then the Safety dept, and then Public Relations, taking a $10 an hour pay cut but trusting the right opportunity will come open. And sure enough, it did! 🙌🏻 Dreams are never easy, but they are worth the hard work and relentless pursuit! I often get asked the question “How do you get a job with Disney?” The easy answer is, apply. And keep applying. The more thorough answer is, just keep collecting the skills, education and experiences needed for your dream job, stay positive, stay persistent, grow your connections, especially on LinkedIn, and trust the process.
