Everyone I will be riding 100 Miles in this year's Pelotonia! Target Goal: My aim is to raise $2,000 in support of cancer survivors and their families. By contributing, you will be providing crucial resources for research, patient care, and advocacy. Main reasons for tackling this challenge: Riding 100 Miles for a Purpose: On August 3rd, I will be embarking on a challenging and symbolic ride of 100 miles to raise funds for cancer research and support. It is my way of contributing to the cause that has affected so many lives Personal Connection: Cancer has profoundly touched my life, as both my grandmother and my girlfriend's brother have lost their battle with this disease. Experiencing how this disease can affect so many has inspired me to take action and make a difference. Symbolic Challenge: I am fully aware that the 100-mile ride cannot compare to the challenges faced by individuals battling cancer every day. However, I see this challenge as a way to pay tribute to their strength and to remind myself of the perseverance required to fight this disease. How You Can Help: Donate: Your generous contribution will directly impact cancer research and support programs. Every dollar counts and brings us one step closer to a world without cancer. Share the Cause: Help reach a wider audience by sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and colleagues. Together, we can create a ripple effect of support and awareness. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will bring us one step closer to a world without this devastating disease.

“Joseph’s Ride: Conquering Cancer, One Pedal at a Time” Introduction: Dear friends and fellow supporters, I want to share my story with you—one that embodies courage, resilience, and hope. I am a cancer survivor who has been riding in the Ride to Conquer Cancer for the past four years. This journey is not just about cycling; it’s about conquering the insurmountable. My Journey: My battle with cancer began many years ago. The diagnosis shook my world, leaving me with uncertainty and fear. But that did not cause me to back down. Facing the disease head-on, trusting in the treatments and drawing strength from my loved ones and those around me, I found purpose—the Ride became my beacon of hope. Why We Ride: My experience pales in comparison to those of countless others. We ride for our mothers, fathers, siblings, friends—the ones we’ve lost and the ones still fighting. We ride for the survivors—the living proof that resilience can triumph over adversity. And we ride for the future—the hope that our collective efforts will eradicate cancer. Event Details: Date: June 8-9, 2024 Location: Various routes across Canada Beneficiary: The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (a global leader in cancer research) How You Can Make a Difference: Donate: Your contribution directly fuels groundbreaking research. Every dollar brings us closer to a cure. Join Joseph: Whether you’re an avid cyclist or a novice, consider riding alongside Joseph. Share the wind, the sweat, and the determination. You all know by now that I have added Brain Cancer Advocate to my resume. Losing my soulmate, Jim, to Glioblastoma is still so surreal. I appreciate all the messages of love and support you have sent my way. The boys and I are committed to forging ahead to honor Jim and to make a difference for patients and families fighting this devastating disease. Today kicks off Brain Cancer Awareness Month. We stand in solidarity with everyone touched by brain cancer, especially those fighting #glioblastoma. It's a very hard diagnosis to swallow given the facts, like this one. WOW, right? We need your help to raise awareness on how desperate and urgent the need is for more funding in order to accelerate research, clinical trials and new treatments. Will you please give? When you give in May, your gift will be matched up to $50k through the generosity of the Robert Lloyd Corkin Charitable Foundation and National Brain Tumor Society corporate sponsor, Stryker. Please spread the word!! Please repost and share this message. Together, let's raise our voices and unite to PRIORITIZE BRAIN CANCER. It's been too long. It's time for change. Today is Glioblastoma Awareness Day, and it's been 918 days since my mum, Jana Bennett, passed away from this devastating disease. It feels like only yesterday I was holding her hand for the last time. Her diagnosis back in May 2019 truly turned our world upside down, especially for a 24-year-old me. But you grow up fast, find a lot of strength, and try to find the good in the bad. To all the incredible, brave, and powerful people living with Glioblastoma, or those caring for loved ones, you're not alone. There are fantastic charity and advocacy groups out there (OurBrainBank for Glioblastoma, The Brain Tumour Charity, Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission to name a few) that can help provide support. However, funding is still desperately needed for Glioblastoma research, which still has one of the lowest 5-year survival rates of any cancer. This is why GBM Awareness Day is so important, as this disease can no longer remain terminal. #GBDDay #GlioblastomaAwarenessDay #OurBrainBank #BTSM

This month, I committed to walking 100 miles for Breast Cancer Now. 🎀 I initially assumed it would be manageable—just over 3 miles each day. But as the month unfolded, I quickly learned it wasn’t as simple as I’d imagined. Busy schedules, changing plans, and unexpected commitments turned what seemed like an “easy feat” into a real challenge. Here’s what I took away from this challenge: • 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁: It’s about adapting and making the effort, even on tiring days. • 𝗔 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱: A quick loop around the quays gave me time to unwind and reset. The fresh air and shift of pace helped me return to tasks with a calmer, clearer perspective. • 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 “𝗯𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿” 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀: Anticipate days when you may fall short of your goal and schedule extra mileage on flexible days to stay on track. Looking ahead, I’m excited to take on new challenges—not only to support worthy causes but to continue pushing my own limits. If you’d like to support, the link is below. Every 10 minutes, a woman in the UK is diagnosed with breast cancer. 🎀 Breast Cancer Now provides crucial support and hope for a future without it. Every bit helps—thank you to all who have contributed. 💗

Today is International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, a day to honour all children who have been diagnosed with cancer, and to remember the countless young lives lost. In Australia, 86 children are diagnosed with cancer every month, and on average, 12 of these kids will not survive. We believe that a life should be long. That every child should have the chance to grow up and grow old. To plan exciting futures, chase their dreams, and fulfil their potential. So this March, our 86K for a Cure community is conquering 86km for the 86 kids diagnosed with cancer every month. 💚 Together, we WILL find a cure to end childhood cancer, once and for all.
