All of these important things that *have* to be done, and are good, important work - but all things that take us away from our core business of PR, pitching and looking after our clients. But we couldn’t find the right admin assistants to get the work done, who understood how important it is that these jobs are done right…. we created admin solutions that work- right hands, that work. We are taking clients now. If you want to streamline your operations to focus on opportunities- we’ve got the right hand for you. *not sure if it’s just us, but as soon as I start to “research flights for work trip” my mind thinks “research flights to New York”.

I think Arlo’s happy face sums up a bank holiday weekend well spent! I'm a Pinterest trainer and consultant and I help small businesses increase their website traffic using Pinterest.
Did you know that in my previous life I was a Facilities Manager for an advertising agency. I joined the company as a receptionist and worked my way up to joint head of the department. When you work in a service department, particularly in a creative industry, you quickly develop a very thick skin and the ability to know what your colleagues need even before they do. We were very good at making the impossible happen. I looked after health and safety, company mobiles, on-site events and building maintenance and God knows how many other responsibilities that weren't on my job description. And I became very skilled in quickly opening several bottles of champagne without any mess! When I had kids, it was hard to be as flexible as the role required, given the unpredictability. Not many pics of me during working hours so this is from one of our Christmas parties. The party was on site and you can tell I'm still "on duty" by the Blackberry (remember them?!) sticking out of my bra. Even there are some elements of an office job that I miss, I couldn't go back to a 9-5 position. My life is too unpredictable and I enjoy the freedom and flexibility a bit too much. Looking back though, there are elements of my former career that are helpful as a freelancer. A thick skin and the ability to second guess what your client needs are definitely advantageous when it comes to working in social media. I'd love to know, what did you do in a former career and do you feel there any elements that you learned from it that are valuable to your current career?

𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙚. 80% of our tasks may appear straightforward, which is why many believe our role is easy... ——— 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 ‼️ 𝙃𝙞𝙙𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙨 ↳ Behind every simple task lies a hidden challenge... staying motivated while navigating obstacles is a constant test. 𝙀𝙣𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙍𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙨 ↳ A never-ending stream of emails that all need to be read and actioned. They all contain small pieces of valuable information. 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝-𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 ↳ Even though we work in different roles, many of us interact with the same key contacts as our executives. We frequently connect with top professionals and must handle ourselves appropriately. 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙘 𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 ↳ The further you get in your career, the more essential it becomes to understand strategic priorities.
