The Possible Zone STEAM team was honored to earn a recent Infosys Foundation USA Infy Makers Award. This special award is comprised of a money grant as well as professional development for up to three TPZ staff in the Making CS Inclusive multi-month program led by Digital Promise. This award has already been put into action and supported the development and teaching of last month’s Deep Dive focused on reinforcement learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics. This curriculum embedded reflection points on the ethics of AI and relevant career pathways through fun, immersive workshops that equipped our students with robust future-ready skillsets. This program will be repeated and shared with Boston Public School partners over the next few years, engaging even more students.

Your kids could learn AI skills this summer. And even have fun doing it. In Silicon Valley, parents are enrolling children, as young as 5, in AI camps to prepare them for a tech-driven future. Here’s what happens at these camps: • Kids learn topics like “AI Robot Design & AR Coding,” even if they’re new to reading and typing. • They build robots and train AI models with real-world applications. • Educators to introduce coding as a new language, making complex ideas simple and fun. A camp like Integem offers AI-specific programs for kids aged 5 to 16 and start at $600 per week with available scholarships. Parents believe early tech exposure boosts their kids’ future opportunities. Would you consider an AI summer camp to give your child a head start in AI? It’s an investment in their future that’s fun, too. ♻️ Share if you believe in early tech education. PS: Follow Nelly Lund for more development tips and AI insights right here on LinkedIn.

🚀🤖 Exciting Insights for CS Students: Embracing AI to Transform Careers: As a second-year Computer Science student, I've been delving deep into the fascinating intersection of AI and programming. It's been an exhilarating journey of discovery, and I'm thrilled to share some insights that have been shaping my perspective on our future. Contrary to common fears, AI isn't set to take away programming jobs. Instead, it's poised to revolutionize and redefine them, making entry into the world of programming even more accessible and dynamic than ever. All educators play a crucial role in guiding the next generation of innovators towards responsible and ethical AI development. By fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration, educators can prepare students to navigate the opportunities and challenges presented by AI. Just as a boat is better suited to adapt to the tumultuous waves, embracing AI allows us to innovate and adapt in the face of technological advancements. Rather than resisting change, AI empowers us to address complex challenges and drive progress. Consider this: AI technology has the potential to democratize access to programming skills at an unprecedented pace and scale, akin to the accessibility offered by public libraries but at lightning speed and a fraction of the cost. This means that the barriers to entry that once existed in our field are rapidly diminishing, opening doors for individuals from diverse backgrounds to explore and excel. So, what does this mean for people studying CS? It means that while gaining a solid foundation in programming fundamentals remains essential, it's equally crucial to equip ourselves with AI-centric skills that will enable us to thrive in this evolving landscape. AI-powered tools and platforms are already streamlining development processes, automating repetitive tasks, and empowering programmers to tackle complex challenges with greater efficiency and precision. So, fellow developers, let's seize the opportunity to embrace AI and equip ourselves with the skills needed to thrive in this evolving landscape. By combining a solid foundation in programming fundamentals with proficiency in AI-driven technologies, we can position ourselves at the forefront of innovation, ready to shape the future of programming with confidence and ingenuity. Are you ready to embark on this exciting journey with me? Let's dive in, learn, and grow together as we embrace the transformative power of AI in programming! 💡 #AI #Programming #ComputerScience #txst #FutureReady
