Julia LeBlanc's journey with The Nanny Network + Sidekick began unexpectedly last July when she found herself seated beside Dulany Reeves Dent, the visionary president and CEO, at an airport. As fate would have it, their conversation, which kicked off with excitement in sharing about their children and parenting woes, delved into her company, and Julia was deeply inspired by Dulany's commitment to empowering women, bridging the gender wage gap, and supporting working families. Dulany's intentional decision to buy the company to pursue this mission left her eager to join Dulany’s team and contribute to this important work. As I headed out the door of my hotel room last week, to head to a business meeting I needed to quickly snap this photo. My husband, my partner, my ally. Before we had kids we talked about what we wanted our careers to look like. Some of those conversations were that no one's career is more important than the others and we want to attempt to show our children (boy & girl) equality. This past week was a great example of that, allies don't just talk, they show up, they say yes, they make it happen. I wouldn't have been able to come back "early" in August from maternity leave without him stepping up as an equal parent. Shout out to the parents that are equal parenting, you are helping get more women back into the workplace & into positions that girls dream of. #worklife #womenintech #momsoflinkedin

Empowering Dads !! Fostering Confidence to Speak About Childcare Responsibilities in the Work place 🗣 I am incredibly grateful to have a husband who prioritises our children. He ensures he’s there for childcare drop-offs, pick-ups, and appointments whenever he can. His commitment embodies the Parenting Out Loud movement, which marks a significant cultural shift from traditional fathering practices that have persisted for generations. Parenting Out Loud is crucial for achieving equal parenting and promoting gender equality at home and in the workplace. When fathers like him engage openly in parenting, they help normalize male caregiving and serve as role models, breaking the stigma and changing perceptions around fatherhood. Supportive policies, like enhanced or equal parental leave, are essential , but real change requires a cultural shift. Currently, 1 in 3 working dads feel uncomfortable discussing family commitments with their employers. The Parenting Out Loud culture change program helps organizations create environments where dads can openly engage in parenting, underscoring that dads’ parental responsibilities are just as important as moms’. #workingdads #parentingoutloud SMART Education Recruitment Francesca Sandiford Fiona Moss Pippa Lee Graham Kelly Sarah Satchwell Joanne Prince Sarah Piercy Nico Sidhu Deborah Mclean Hema K. Parenting Out Loud on Loose Women!! The Parenting Out Loud campaign has made daytime mainstream news as the Loose Men panel discuss their experiences of being working dads and how policy and culture needs to change to support all parents. High Energy Online Strength & Fitness Coach & Personal Trainer | Workplace Wellness Queen: Happy Employees = Happy Customers | Good Human | Excellent Banter!
I love this campaign. If we’re honest, we mostly still live in a society where mums feel much more comfortable telling their boss that they need time off for kids’ sports days, illnesses, other events that require us to be away from work for the kids. It doesn’t occur to some men to do it and not because they don’t want to, but because we, as mothers, have naturally assumed this responsibility. It’s mostly how it’s always been done. Things are changing and for many reasons. The modern father wants to be more involved in their kids’ lives. The modern mother is often working full-time herself. So it seems only right that men and women share these responsibilities equally. In my view, regardless of who earns the most money and who does and doesn’t work in the relationship, parenting should always be equal. We’re a team! Men shouldn’t feel anxious about having a baby on the way and what it might mean for them professionally. They should absolutely be able to parent out loud and be proud of being a parent. They should be able to want to leave the office a little earlier, so that they can spend some time with their kids before bedtime, and not be concerned that this could be detrimental to their career. Understandably, we focus a lot on women’s wellness and rights when it comes to parenting and less so about men’s. But the wellness of the woman hinges on the wellness of the man. If he is able to confidently play an active role in parenting, without reprimand or judgement, then the woman will feel more supported and less alone. Wellness is holistic. You can be absolutely nailing one aspect of your life, but if you’re struggling in another area of your life, this will bleed into all areas e.g. your relationships. Congratulations Elliott Rae ! So glad to see you leading the way for future generations of fathers. 💚

Let's celebrate #InternationalWomensDay with a powerful step towards inclusion! Did you know that in 2022, women with minor children represented only 2% of South Carolina lawmakers? We need significant changes in our legislative body if we want to live in a world where the rights of women, girls, and gender-expansive people aren’t constantly under attack. With House Bill H.4561, candidates could use campaign funds to cover childcare costs. By eliminating financial obstacles, we help open doors for diverse candidates and create a more inclusive political landscape. Let’s #inspireinclusion and empower caregivers to lead Together, we’re building a future where everyone’s voice is represented. Millennial mom educating and empowering women, LGBTQIA+, and Employee Resource Groups to give them a fair shake in this world.
The pain of daycare costs is so real. Yes, I'm calling it pain! I didn't get parental leave beyond my 60% disability payments during the time I took off work for each of my kids. Each one was a c section which brought about its own additional costs. At its peak for our family, daycare was $497/ week for two kids …$2000/mo …or nearly $24,000/year After feeding them, clothing them, baseball... well, you get the drift. It's hard balancing all this. Planning for those costs in advance can be a huge help. http://spr.ly/6046ioFGA ---- ⭐ I’m a millennial mom educating and empowering women, LGBTQIA+, and Employee Resource Groups to give them a fair shake in this world. ⭐ Less than 15% of financial advisors are women! ⭐ Follow me on Facebook, X, Instagram or LinkedIn @jessicakmartini Want to learn about the planning our team does? Content note: Ableism, mentions of genocide and violence. It's International Women's Day, and I'm not celebrating. How can I, when disabled women continue to be disadvantaged in so many ways? I wrote a snapshot of my mixed feelings for Hireup, but there's so much more I could have said. How can we celebrate when women all over the world are oppressed, are enduring racism and starvation and genocide? Instead of celebrating, I'm renewing my commitment to advocacy. In the Hireup article, I suggested a few ways to do so and acknowledged some of the many disabled women whose work galvanises me. They include (but are not limited to) Liel Bridgford, Renay Barker-Mulholland, Samantha Lilly, El Gibbs, Natalie Wade, Amy Marks, Tayla Richardson, Carly Findlay OAM, Fiona Murphy, Rosie Putland, Jacinta Dietrich, Rebecca Turner, Jen Hargrave, Kate Thomas and Zoe Simmons. Credit where it's due: I adapted the notion of making ripples from something I heard Chloë Polglaze say at a recent webinar for Children and Young People with Disability Australia. May we know strength this International Women's Day, and may it carry us forward as we continue to fight for a safer, better world. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2024 #CountHerIn #CeasefireNow #LivedExperience https://bit.ly/48NNsSN

"Celebrating the Indomitable Spirit of Working and Homemaker Mothers". As we commemorate International Women's Day, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey of mothers who excel both in their professional endeavors and as homemakers. Their resilience, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment inspire us all. In today's world, mothers wear multiple hats with grace and determination. They are not only professionals, entrepreneurs, teachers, and caregivers but also the heart and soul of their households. Balancing the demands of work with the responsibilities of managing a home and nurturing a family is an extraordinary feat that deserves recognition and celebration. Working mothers navigate the complexities of the workplace while striving to provide the best possible future for their families. They embody perseverance and determination, breaking barriers and shattering stereotypes along the way. Their contributions to the workforce and society at large are immeasurable. Homemaker mothers, on the other hand, dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to creating nurturing and supportive environments for their families. They selflessly devote their time and energy to ensuring that their loved ones thrive and flourish. Their love, compassion, and unwavering support form the foundation upon which their families are built. The challenges faced by working and homemaker mothers are unique and often underestimated. From managing hectic schedules to navigating societal expectations, they confront obstacles with resilience and grace. Despite the challenges, they remain steadfast in their commitment to their families and their dreams. As we celebrate the achievements of working and homemaker mothers, it's essential to recognize the need for support and solidarity. We must advocate for policies and initiatives that promote work-life balance, gender equality, and recognition of the invaluable contributions of mothers in all spheres of life. To all the working and homemaker mothers out there: Your strength, sacrifice, and love are the cornerstones of your families and communities. Your dedication inspires us to strive for excellence and create a world where all mothers are celebrated and supported. Today and every day, let us honor and celebrate the indomitable spirit of working and homemaker mothers around the world. Together, we can build a more inclusive, equitable, and compassionate society for generations to come. #WorkingMothers #HomemakerMothers #InternationalWomensDay #Equality #Diversity #Inclusion #Empowerment #rupeetalks
