As we celebrate Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month, I'm reminded of the power of diversity in driving innovation and growth in our industry. As a white ally, I recognize my privilege and the responsibility it carries. It's not enough to simply acknowledge it – we must actively use our platforms to amplify Hispanic and Latino voices. This is a constant reminder that companies need to continue to invest and support the Hispanic market. The biggest takeaway when I think about this is that they need to understand that their investment is/comes off as authentic. Easier said than done as most companies don’t take the time or effort to research who they are marketing. They rather take the easy route abd slap some Spanish words into an otherwise generic campaign. Invest but also do it right 🙌🏾🙏🏾💪🏾

When developing marketing strategies for the Hispanic audiences, it's important to avoid relying on superficial tactics like Latino Coating. This approach involves incorporating Latino elements into campaigns without a genuine understanding or appreciation for the culture, ultimately coming off as insincere and ineffective.
