I love this. It brings me to tears because my mom was a security guard at Gilcrease Museum & I would spend hours there on the weekends and volunteer in the summer. ♥️

I write at the moment about the greeks vase paintings and if i see this video The Metropolitan Museum of Art , i can say it looks like a dreamlike place where human and material are morphing together. Wonderful.

Love this post. As a frequent visitor to the Met I found as much mystery to what the Security Guards were feeling being immersed daily into a place in time that stood still as I did to the art. I think it is a great honor that they hold.

1moI love that The Met is interviewing individuals at different positions and levels at their institution. It's a reflection that they recognize that museums, like any workspace, is an ecosystem where every department, every person, plays an important role where all must be appreciated to the same degree. The fact that after fourteen years the art was still personal to her was so refreshing too.
