Those who follow me on other social networks have already seen this photo. If not - don't be scared. 😄 I will be walking around like this after a surgery on my ear for two weeks. I had my first otoplasty two years ago. The reason - alpine skiing. It's my big winter passion, but I was uncomfortable in a ski helmet. Then everything went wrong at once: severe pain, long healing. For a year it was painful to touch my ear (let alone a ski helmet). The verdict of Italian surgeons - the operation was performed poorly, and had to be redone. I'm telling you all this because I got a question: is it justified to have an operation if its function is aesthetic? As usual, my favorite answer is: "It depends". I was quite satisfied with my ear, if not for skiing. At the same time, the radical position of "accepting yourself as you are" is not close to me. If the operation closed someone's painful issue - great ❤️ Another thing is when more and more new claims begin - and the nose can be corrected, and here to remove, and here to add ... This is already dysmorphophobia, and it requires the support of a doctor. I adhere to the same principle in my work. I teach clients to build a career according to the principle "I want - I can - I need", where their desires are tested by objective skills and the market situation. But "I want" always comes first, otherwise you can endlessly remake yourself to please an external arbiter (be it an employer, parents or colleagues). Agree? Do you have enough "I want" in your work and life?

🤩✨Wearing a helmet can be the difference between life and death when engaging in outdoor activities like biking, skateboarding, or scootering. ✨Helmets play a crucial role in reducing the risk of head injuries in case of accidents. ✨They serve as a protective barrier, absorbing impact forces and minimizing the severity of potential injuries. ✨ In many regions, helmet use is mandated by law, emphasizing its role in preventing fatalities and long-term neurological damage. ✨Prioritizing helmet safety is a simple yet effective measure that can save lives and ensure a safer experience for individuals participating in various outdoor activities. ✨Remember, it only takes a few seconds to put on a helmet, but it can make all the difference in the world. Stay safe and always wear a helmet!

🌿 A balance in life is a must. “Rest should be active, not passive. The most effective restorative rest that counterbalances long and stressful work hours comes from active leisure. Passive activities such as mindless TV viewing can allow a brief break after a busy day, but it does not have the restorative capacity to truly counteract work in the way active leisure does.” #loveyourself #workhardplayhard #surfing #chillrider #ophthalmology #afterworkout

Brisbane Physiotherapy Olympics Series: Diving Diving is an acrobatic sport where athletes perform complex maneuvers while diving into a pool from a springboard or platform. It demands a blend of strength, flexibility, coordination, and precise timing, with dives judged on their difficulty, execution, and entry. Common injuries in diving include shoulder injuries such as rotator cuff tears and impingement arise from overuse and repetitive overhead movements. Back injuries, like strains, bulges and rare vertebral fractures can also occur with improper water entry. Wrist and hand injuries, including sprains and fractures, can result from hand positioning. Head and neck injuries, such as concussions and cervical spine injuries, are less common but serious risks. Knee injuries, including tendonitis and ligament sprains, are also prevalent from repetitive jumping and improper landings. Management involves a phased approach. Rehabilitation exercises focus on strengthening key muscles in the core, back, upper and lower limbs. Manual therapy helps reduce pain and improve mobility. Technique correction through biomechanical analysis and drills ensures proper form and reduces stress on vulnerable areas. A structured return-to-sport protocol ensures athletes safely resume diving activities. Brain buckets, pow, and pizza – feeling a little lost too? 🎿🏂 Ski season is upon us, and if you are frequent visitor on the snowy slopes, these terms might be your second language. We are no experts on skiing or snowboarding, but if you run out of luck, our ever-growing library of animations will help you navigate the many complicated terms thrown around at the hospital. Naturally, we hope that you will never need these! But please take care on the slopes, and then we will cross our fingers for blue skies and fresh snow. For trivia purposes, brain buckets are helmets, pow refers to fresh powder snow, and pizza is the shape of your skis when you try to slow down – we think 😉 #visikon #healtheducation #digitalhealth #healthcare
