CANNES 2024 | We had an incredible session with Sir Martin Sorrell last week at the Media.Monks Cafe during our activity in Cannes. His insights on the future of marketing, creativity, AI, and global inclusivity were truly enlightening. Sir Martin shared his belief that AI is not just a tool, but a revolution, emphasising the critical role of technology in transforming our industry. He highlighted the pressing need for agility in leadership and the importance of reclaiming control and leveraging first-party data. A few standout quotes from the session: 🌟 On AI: “I’m on the side of it’s a revolution. Totally agree with comments! Tech leaders, are you under promising and over delivering? Our industry has seen a lot of hype around AI, but many jumped on the bandwagon without fully understanding its capabilities. Continual learning is key, as no one knows everything. It's our responsibility to educate stakeholders on the art of possibilities. Each business is unique with its own set of challenges and opportunities. Innovation in one sector can become the seed of ideas for others. As tech leaders, we need to go beyond our space, learn what's happening and assess the impact. Let's keep pushing the boundaries and delivering results that exceed expectations. If I was the #CEO and didn’t get the benefits promised, I would have felt the same.
