The Jewish Agency for Israel’s Post

We are overjoyed to share the inspiring story of Andrey Kozlov, who met with our Chairman, Doron Almog Avrutsky. Doron shared that Andrey was upright and attentive, filled with gratitude and struggling to adjust to the sharp transition from Hamas captivity to the comfort of a hotel, surrounded by family and friends. His mother, Yevgenia, looked at him with endless love—truly a heroic mother. “When I asked Andrey about his plans for the future, he simply said that Israel will always be an inseparable part of him. He wants to continue living here, even with the fear. Just like a year and a half ago, when he decided to come to Israel through the Masa Israel Journey program, he loves Israel today even more. He shared that he always felt his life was a series of coincidences, but now he understands how fortunate he is. He sees the strength and goodness of the people around him and knows it is not to be taken for granted. Andrey arrived in Israel a few months before October 7 through the Jewish Agency's Masa program, driven by true Zionism. Since his abduction, we have awaited his return with great hope, and now he is back—emotional, strong, and happy. I told Andrey, his mother Yevgenia, his father Michael, his brother Dmitry, and his girlfriend Jennifer: Israel is your home, and we will always be here for you. Andrey has been given the gift of life once again. We pray for a brave and noble act that will bring all the hostages home.” Shabbat Shalom and may we hear more good news soon.💙 #JewishAgency #MasaIsrael #WelcomeHomeAndrey #ShabbatShalom #BringThemAllHome

There’s many who won’t see this because they don’t get the smaller stories about Israel but maybe we can spread this with our friends and families because we know that those who have been abducted and kidnapped by Hamas have been getting all the attention and sometimes it’s translated into love and somberness for their side as we should all have when we see the landscape of war, but we can’t let it come at the cost of the hostages or prisoners of war that have been taken from their home, workplace or another place that they’re comfortable with. It has to be remembered that those who oppose Israel have contributed to the war against them and the lack of life Andrey and the others held hostage with him have experienced these past seven to eight months.
