Speaking of logistics real estate, this week CBS 3 shared with local viewers an inside look at the recently opened 140,000sf Amazon last-mile distribution center at 6901 Elmwood Avenue, adjacent to John Bartram High School in southwest Philadelphia. This facility now processes > 1.0MM packages per month, and employs > 400 people. 2) Stirred, not Shaken Emma Dooling reported this week in the Philadelphia Business Journal that Stateside Urbancraft Vodka, now is in process of relocating its headquarter and distilling operations to a 40,000+ sf development at 13000 McNulty Road in northeast Philadelphia. For tasters in Greater Center City, the brand also is retaining its tasting room on North Hancock Street in Olde Kensington. Stateside's growth has been fueled by the recent success of its Surfside brand. 3) Hot Shots & Skee-Ball Per Contessa Brewer, in her recent CNBC piece, Dave & Buster's Inc., is set to offer real money, on-site social wagering opportunities to its loyalty members. The program is set to roll out across the company’s retail venues later this year, using software developed by Lucra Sports and integrated into D&B's app. Lucra’s investor group includes SeventySix Capital and celeb pro athletes Julie and Zach Ertz, all with strong ties to Greater Philadelphia. BUILDING WATCH: Konrad Putzier recently published a long-form article in The Wall Street Journal that details many aspects of a rising hashtag #Detroit. Dan Gilbert, Rocket Mortgage, General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Related Companies and its founder, Stephen Ross (a Detroit-area native), are making large commitments to this formerly beleaguered downtown.
