Apply to the job anyways even if you don’t think you meet the qualifications❗️ This was advice I needed to see, TODAY Even though I was someone who grinding through college to get 3 internships and nearly 20 professional certifications, I constantly talk myself out of applying to roles that would be a good fit I think, I don’t have enough experience or I didn’t apply RIGHT after the job was posted so I probably won’t get a chance But those are all shots that I never took No one knows how far I would have actually gotten if I just applied There’s a statistic that women only apply to roles that they’re 100% qualified for vs men apply to roles they’re 60% qualified Whether that’s still true - females, new grads, everyone - believe in yourself, apply to that job anyways ⭐️ #postgraduation #newgrads #justdoit

Apply to the job anyways even if you don’t think you meet the qualifications. There’s no perfect candidate. When I saw Lockheed Martin job posting for a recruiter position, there were hundreds of applicants for the role and I didn’t think I had a shot. My therapist however convinced me to try anyways and that I was more than capable that I gave myself credit for. I ended up getting an interview and the entire time I convinced myself that I was still not going to get selected. I only had 1 year of experience, no degree, and gaps. However I ended up advancing to the second round and got the offer on the spot. I’ve been here for over a year now and if there’s anything I can tell you is that don’t take yourself out of the running because chances are you’ll end up winning the race. You never know if you don’t apply and you never know that you could be the candidate they are looking for. There’s no perfect candidate ❤️

See your dream job but don’t meet the requirements? Apply anyway. Just do it. What’s the worst that can happen? I once cold DM’d the CPO of a unicorn startup because he was looking for a chief of staff. I didn’t meet their years of experience requirement but I wrote about why I’d be a good fit. He replied instantly and asked me to send my CV directly to his work email. The interview got scheduled in just a couple days later. I didn’t get the job in the end, but hey, at least he gave me a shot. #jobinterviews #productmanagement

Are your job ads discriminating against older workers? A class action lawsuit was just filed against aerospace and defense systems giant RTX Corporation for allegedly favoring younger candidates in their job postings. Their job ads for "recent graduate positions" discourage older applicants. To avoid falling into the same trap, here’s how to craft inclusive job ads: 1. Highlight skills and relevant experience over the years since graduation. 2. Detail the necessary skills without implying age preference. 3. Emphasize training and development opportunities. Ensure your job ads attract the best talent, regardless of age. What are your thoughts? #DiversityAndInclusion #StartupAdvice

HR Specialist | Expertise in Recruitment, Employee Development & Organizational Behavior | Driving HR Strategy & Performance in Global and Local Markets
When applying for a job, please make sure that you carefully go through the job description instead of just focusing on its title. The title of the job might align with your current position but the responsibilities and requirements might be entirely different. This will waste not only recruiter’s time but yours as well as applying for a job is not easy either.

Aviation Executive Recruiter | Human Resources Manager | Onboarding Specialist | DoD Skillbridge Program Manager
Cut down on the noise...on pilot resumes 🙉 Lately I've had a few pilots reach out for resume review. I've reviewed resumes that are actually not bad, but they have a lot of "noise." Resume "noise" is extra words; extra sections; superfluous items that hold no bearing on obtaining a pilot job (or the job you are applying for). I'll give a few examples but you could also ask someone to glance at your resume and see if it seems "noisy." By nature, most of us are skimmers and I think "skilled at skimming" is a recruiter requirement 🤣 When skimming, skimmers quickly pick out what is important or useful. If there is too much "noise" (extra stuff), it's hard to find the "useful." Some examples of extra "noise": * Over-explaining aviation certifications, licenses, terms. Most aviation recruiters know what "CFI" is; no need to add details. * Non-aviation related work experience; these descriptions can be brief (company, title, date) or leave them off if you have a few aviation related jobs to include. * If you have military experience, include it, but do not need long/details list of job duties that are non-aviation related. * Remove volunteer work unrelated to aviation and/or more than 10 years ago. * Remove memberships that are not aviation related. Pilot resumes are different from most other industries. I've hired for many other positions in my career and most of the examples above don't always apply. For the most part, recruiters need to quickly evaluate if you have the certifications, hours, type ratings they need. While it is neat that someone might volunteer at the local dog shelter (I personally love this!), it adds "noise" and is not needed on a resume.
