Beverage alcohol sales velocity in Off-Premise is like watching paint dry these days 🐌 I know I see it. I've been watching this happen since 2022. When I told folks in my industry that things would get rough until 2025, most people just shrugged it off, yet here we are. Here's the thing, though—it's not the end of the world, and there are ways to mitigate slow churn rates. 👉 get creative with programming and displays for Off-Premise - it's worth asking; you might not get a Yes, but who cares? You're right back where you started, and you know more than you did previously. 👉 show up in the market! I'm always amazed when brands say, "We sold XX just by showing up and speaking with the buyer." This is not rocket science; sales is still a human relationship business. 👉 Go wide - add more points of distribution for your brand to offset slow sell-through in existing retail accounts 👉 Diversify your audience - what parts of the market have you not tapped into yet? 👉 Mind the Gaps - I love a good Gap Report. Find the holes in your distribution footprint and focus on filling those brand and account gaps. 👉 Go Digital - more and more shoppers are browsing online and buying in-store. Address your digital marketing efforts. You might not be generating enough brand awareness to ignite pull-through. This is just a sample of the tactics I use with brand partners to boost sales.
