We only hire anyone who do our assessment with high quality. I agree that our assessments can be lengthy and time-consuming, but it's important to find a company-candidate fit since the job scope is somewhat similar to what you will be doing in the job as well. Secret nobody knows apart from me and Chua Ee Tiong. We were done hiring for internship roles for this summer, and suddenly, Bryan Toh's assessment came unexpectedly. It was one of the best assessments done for his role (including the ones who submitted for full-time positions). Although the hiring was completed, we took him as his thought process, dedication, research, strategic thinking, and divergent methods of lead generation were mind-blowing. Now, whenever any candidate (including full-time positions) shares their completed assessment, I subconsciously compare the assessment with the one done by Bryan Toh. Bryan has a great future, and he was one of the best interns we had; fortunately, he never treated his tenure as an intern, and he was always there to do his best to learn with his enthusiasm like a full-timer.
Bryan Toh joined our team as a Business Development Intern. Here’s what he had to say as his time here comes to an end. 🎓✨ Dynamic and Varied Job Scope 🔄🌐 "My job scope was always dynamic and engaging. I had the opportunity to contribute to different stages of the client acquisition funnel, from initial outreach to the execution of the product demo, as well as the development of proposals. In doing so, I got to work with prospects and clients hailing from various industries and countries. Additionally, aside from my business development responsibilities, I was also exposed to certain aspects of project management and UI/UX development, creating a varied and growth-filled experience. Not only did I gain valuable insights into how tech can be used as a powerful tool to transform different kinds of businesses, my problem-solving and communication skills were also greatly honed as I sought to offer clients the best possible solution that Hipster could provide for them." Fun and Supportive Environment 🎉🤗 "Although there were constantly tasks to be completed and expectations to be met, there was honestly never a day that I dreaded coming into work – and that was largely due to my fellow interns and colleagues. My supervisors allowed me to propose and execute my own ideas, taking all of my suggestions seriously. At the same time, they gave me useful training and feedback that allowed me to grow. The other interns were a huge source of joy and laughter throughout my time here as well. As a whole Hipster team, we worked hard, but we also had lots of fun along the way. I’m very grateful to have experienced such a vibrant and enjoyable working culture." Thank you, Bryan, for all your hard work! We wish you all the best in your future endeavours. 🌟👏 📢 We are looking for a Business Development Intern! 📢 Please see the job description and application steps here. 📄🔗 https://lnkd.in/gtNEwYi3

One of the great things about working in a global team is the vast array and calibre of talent. In Customer Success you end up talking to almost every department in the business! Cross collaboration is really important in both becoming an expert for your customers but also in being an advocate for the Voice of Customer. Yesterday Kinga Kostyrka and I caught up for a long overdue Zoom coffee after meeting each other at the Blinkist office in Berlin last year. Kinga is a super inspiring and hard working person. When we met, she was completing a Product Management internship. Fast forward to today and she has successfully graduated and now a Junior Product Manager! (A quick plug to the power of structured mentorship and programs to support people in their careers) I was keen to hear about the lessons learnt in this new role and what Kinga shared was really insightful. Some key takeaways that I think are super transferable to any role are: ✨ A decision is better that no decision! It can be easy to fall into the trap of being indecisive in the pursuit of the perfect decision or answer. To keep making progress in a fast paced environment, it's crucial to leverage the talent and expertise you have in your team to inform a decision, knowing that you may test and iterate along the way. That's okay! ✨ Being a Product Manager (or working in a team) is about constantly embracing your lack of knowledge in certain areas. You can't achieve anything by yourself! How do you bring a team together to lean into everyone's areas of strength so that you can keep up with the high velocity of pace, change and demands? ✨ To solve problems you need to get really good at *defining* problems. I think this applies to Product but also areas like Customer Success and even as an Account Executive. In Kinga's words, it's a muscle you build and continue to flex. Once you have defined your problem, you can be better informed about who to bring along for the solution and where to gather the most important information (this is where research and talking to customers comes in!) With this, you have a better chance at not only solving the problem but solving it with higher quality ideas. #PlayAsOneTeam #CustomerSuccess #ProductManagement

Sharing a job hunt experience that was disappointing on so many levels. - First, I applied for a Product Management intern role through their career website. - Then, I got the classic "We've received your application" email. Standard procedure. - A few days later, another email hits my inbox. "You gotta do an assignment," they said. 🤦 - Completed and submitted on time. 😭 - Fast forward a couple of weeks, and I finally get a call. "Your assignment has been approved!" they told me. And that they are ready to move forward. 🥳 - But then..They hit me with, "You're better suited for a technical role." 🤦😑 My guess?? They didn't care to check my resume untill I submitted the assignment. I mean, come on! Couldn't they have figured that out before sending out the Assignment? And it wasn't even some random startup. It was a well-established one! This is how the year 2023 concluded for me.🥲
