🌟 Exciting Internship Experience at Ross 🌟 I am thrilled to share that I have completed 4 weeks of my internship at Ross, and it's been an incredibly rewarding journey so far. This past week, I was tasked with organizing men's clothes from the fitting room and ensuring they were promptly returned to the sales floor. It was a fantastic opportunity to dive into the operational side of fashion retail and understand the importance of maintaining a well-organized and appealing sales environment. 🛍️👔 As I continue my internship, I am setting some key goals for myself in the field of fashion merchandising: 1. Learn how to create eye-catching displays that attract customers and boost sales. 2. Gain insights into managing inventory effectively to ensure the right products are available at the right time. 3. Improve my ability to assist customers and understand their preferences, contributing to a better shopping experience. Looking ahead, there are several areas I am eager to improve and learn more about during my time at Ross: - Develop a key eye for spotting fashion trends and understanding how to incorporate them into our product offerings. -Learn to analyze sales data to make informed decisions about product placement and promotions. - Enhance my teamwork skills by working closely with colleagues to achieve our store's goals.

Excellent internship opportunity

I have just completed my Virtual Internship with lululemon's Merchandising on Forage . Lululemon is a Canadian-American multinational athletic apparel retailer headquartered in UK 🇬🇧. They are into athletic wear, lifestyle apparel, accessories, and personal care products In the simulation I: * Completed a job simulation where I assisted the lululemon merchandising team in planning for inventory of lululemon's shorts capsule.  * Created a pivot table to display $ and units of lululemon Shorts shipped across the globe and in key regions. Summarized these findings to assist with inventory management and financial planning. * Created a line sheet for the Spring shorts capsule at lululemon and summarized the SKU count for all channels. * Checked sales from the previous day and compared metrics against prior sales and calculated full-price sell-through to assist with real-time decisions to appropriately manage lululemon's inventory. * Evaluated lululemon's two major competitors’ product-type business strategies by analyzing each brand, ranking their product categories and reviewing the assortment, color stories, marketing, and promotions they offer. My PSA for the day...for interns. If you are starting an internship at a manufacturing or really any company out there please wear proper shoes. Flip flop/slides are NOT appropiate shoes. This is especially true if you are in a manufacturing site. I get that you are only there for the summer, but accidents can happen and appropiate footwear can save you from injury. If you see one such intern, please pull them aside and speak to them confidentially. I had to do this once with our department intern. It turns out that the flip flop were the nicest shoes this person owned and they were trying to look professional as best as they could. I gave them some ideas of where to go to get some cheap items. They were very thankful for the confidential conversation and ideas. The following week they were dressed appropiately for the office.
