My Internship Journey with Reliance Brands Limited - Superdry 💡 As I reflect on my recent internship experience, I am eager to share the profound learnings and achievements that have significantly shaped my professional journey. ✅ Spearheading Go-to-Market Strategies - My primary responsibility was leading the planning for the launch of Performance Apparel & Footwear for Superdry. I embarked on an exhaustive competitor analysis, exploring the offerings & strategies of giants like Nike, Adidas, Puma, Under Armour, Asics, Reebok, Tiger Onitsuka, New Balance, Skechers, and newer brands like HRX, 7-10 & Comet. Field research across malls and stores in Delhi - NCR provided firsthand consumer insights, unveiling preferences and the decision-making psyche. This comprehensive study, coupled with strategic recommendations for celebrity endorsements and selecting high-visibility outlets and platforms, paved the way for a robust go-to-market strategy. These efforts will ensure Superdry’s impactful entry into the performance segment, aligning product visibility with our target customers through strategically chosen pricing, fit, fabric, design and channels, thereby maximizing market penetration and brand resonance. ✅Identifying & Bridging Product Gaps -  Analyzing the existing women’s wear range revealed significant opportunities to enhance our product offerings. By strategically refining our designs and introducing targeted improvements, we aimed to balance the gender sales ratio. This initiative might not only enhance our market positioning but also resonate deeply with our consumer base, fostering loyalty and preference. ✅Optimizing Inventory Through Insightful Analysis -  Delving into Sell-Through Reports, I generated actionable insights that significantly influenced the Buying Plans and Inter-Store Transfer strategies. By meticulously analyzing sales data, I recommended efficient inventory transfers across stores, reducing the need for fresh sourcing and thus, optimizing operational costs. This initiative marked an improvement in managing stock levels, ensuring the right products were available at the right time and place. This journey would not have been as enriching without the unwavering support and guidance from Masters' Union. A must-watch discussion about the current state of the fashion industry from SHOWstudio The panelists touch upon very important topics, such as the latest collapse of MATCHES and freelancer rates. And one of the most significant questions asked was, whether internships should be paid. It is no-secret that in fashion industry, unfortunately, interns are still mostly not paid, especially styling interns. Personally, I believe that the world is changing and with it, the industry needs to adjust accordingly and evolve rather than continue the same practices as it was 20 or so years ago. Of course, on occasion it may be that it won’t be paid, but things like travel costs and food should be covered. And this would happen only to someone who lives in London, or any other major fashion hub. To hear an industry professional state, that if they went through it all - having 2 jobs and doing unpaid internships, the upcoming stylists too, have to go through it, is quite dystopian to me. It’s the unexpected try since I met Wei Chen 陳薇荃 like within 2 months ago. As the foreigner who has established the #fashion / #textiles industry consulting studio in Japan, it’s the the usual experience especially during without the half year after company started, we had suffered from the #pandemic on early of 2020. But thanks for all the unexpected challenges, now we have the #FabricArk offline showroom in Taipei , and on the way to create the same concept in Tokyo on coming years. We also pushed ourselves to challenge the same ideas but with the communication to the cross-cultural user line #mandarin , #english native user that eager to explore the real #madeinjapan. I personally starts the 2nd year exclusive lecture at Japan @BunkaFashionCollege to shares the points of views as the foreigner business owners on seeing and how to use the real value of Japan textiles / fashion industry to sustain the industry. And it’s interesting that the classes can be processed by 100% Japanese also the 100% Mandarin. And on this finally we start total new program and expect to have more useful and make the better output for our beloved industry, by connecting the right people no matter you are the Japanese or the foreigner. That’s why I also have the interesting talk event with the professor Ota from Japan 🇯🇵 #komazawauniversity to shares more interesting prospects for the general foreigners in Japan that it’s another interesting stories that thanks to the Mark Chih 👁️ I think for the past 5 years, Ruleless Studio has established so many interesting records that sometimes even for me can’t see how far we can reach. However, as the people who is just the big fan of this industry, and wondering maybe something we can do more no only choose the materials but also the right cares can about the people or the new generation that want to join this industry. Foot Locker dropped it's new brand platform today -- "The Heart of Sneakers" -- and I love when a company thinks about the totality of the brand versus just the marketing expression. With Foot Locker they're looking at what their unique assets are when it comes to the competition -- and they're focusing on their "Stripers" aka their sales associates. This comes across in the creative execution, but if you pop onto their careers site... it's also clear that this is an area they're focus on and investing in. Check out any of the retail store jobs they have open and you'll see a clear focus on product knowledge, passion for athletics, and ability to connect with kids and their parents. This is Foot Locker understanding that the store is where their buyer explores, discovers, and, sure transacts... and that the expertise and passion of those who work in those stores are as much a part of the brand as the millions spent across media. Sarah Burton is departing from Alexander McQueen (also the beloved place where I had the chance to live my first part-time internship as an assistant archivist in London). WWD quoting Luca Solca: Burton’s departure “confirms that the pace of change in fashion and luxury is accelerating. The creative director’s lifespan is shorter as competition for relevance and newness is increasing.” Could consistency be the key to actually be relevant? As consumers are more diverse and society evolves faster and faster, being true to the brand ethos, to one designer's vision does/could work ... long term. Fashion fades, style remains. As such, tomorrow Phoebe Philo's vision of quiet luxury will most certainly lead the fashion conversation but the day after .... we'd likely want to go back to some Michele inspired Maximalism. Does it mean that a creative director's relevance only lasts 2 seasons? That from season to season creative directors have to change? How to conciliate fashion super-fast cycles, quarterly investor reports and a designer's long term vision? How to conciliate the stock market hyper-sensitivity with the idea of heritage? Maybe being an independent House or allowing creation to lead or playing with the portfolio of brands, allowing one brand to lead financially one day and one other brand to lead the day after.

We believe that "Through Sport, We Have the Power to Change Lives," and we put those words into action.   For the second time, we brought together talent students from selected universities, department executives, interns, and the adidas Runners Crew for an unforgettable 4 km run in Bebek, Istanbul. But it wasn't just a run; it was an opportunity to showcase our commitment to empowering lives through sports. Here's what our "With Talents We Run - Back to School" event looked like:   ✨Empowering Conversations: Talent students had the chance to connect with department executives and interns, asking questions about adidas, our values, and our impact on the world. 👟 Running Together: The event featured a 4 km run led by the adidas Runners Crew, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, which is at the core of our mission. 🤝 Building Connections: Our event wasn't just about running; it was about building connections, sharing stories, and making memories.   This is the essence of adidas - where we take our values off the shelves and put them into action. We don't just create sportswear; we create experiences that change lives.

Most important lesson I learned in my first two weeks as an intern at adidas: When it comes to progress in your job, optimal, efficient and high expectations are silent killers if not managed well, as they did for a bit in my case. For more context, I am an incredibly high achiever, which worked well in 90% of cases. To be successful with high goals, you need processes and habits that flourish your energy, learning and work so you can focus on what is essential. Switching to a 9-5 was an exciting experience that forced me to adapt my processes to a new environment. However, I hurried a bit. Trying to be optimal, efficient and learn everything ASAP to prove valuable fast was about to be my failure in this case. Instead of learning the ins and outs slowly and surely, I tried my optimal route in an environment in which I was not familiar and with a huge learning curve (almost 75 years of history behind Adidas, I definitely can't learn it in two weeks). I made significant progress but missed some important "whys" and "hows". In a multinational company where teamwork is more than essential, those are non-negotiable. Unlike me, take your time. Walk slowly and observe the details of the environment, especially when you are unsure and it's something totally new. Slow and consistent progress, in this case, is better than efficiency and optimal when you don't even know what has to be efficient and optimal. Observe more than you think is needed, then choose the right way for the specific situation. Don't just go for the path you're used to, even if it yielded the best results until now. Make a habit to always remember to observe. P.S. Props to adidas and my team for providing the environment and making it as smooth as possible; it was a great experience.
