📣Authentic storytelling provides a strong foundation for building deep and meaningful connections. In this week’s episode of The Delivery Space podcast we spoke to Jamie Mackenzie (FCIM) about the Art of Storytelling. “Stories change lives” and we discussed how they enable this to happen and what tools we can use to do so effectively. In Jamie's book ‘28 Bags of Sprouts, Storytelling with Impact’ he described how being able to tell a story about his proudest moment landed him a job in his early career. He was able to tell a story with such impact that it changed his life forever! ✨ Great stories carry a universal appeal that can transcend culture, they can build that strong emotional connection that can leave an audience feeling inspired and motivated to act. Whether it be in the corporate world or our daily lives having the ability to tell a story with impact matters. In this episode we discuss: 🔸The Sprout Model and the elements it contains to tell a good story 🔸How to build a connection with an audience through story telling whilst maintaining authenticity 🔸Positive opportunities that can arise from being able to articulate a story 🔸Common mistakes with storytelling 🔸How people can continue to refine the skillset About our guest: Jamie’s mission is to help unlock this superpower of storytelling with impact for other people, so that they too can enjoy the impact and the benefits that it will bring. Simply put ... Stories. Change. Lives. Over 20 years ago, a story shared about 28 bags of sprouts was enough to make the difference, to make an impact, and to change his life. This started Jamie on a career path which gave him the most wonderful opportunity to engage with people, enjoy success, feel failure and more importantly ... learn. He has been empowered by great leaders to own strategy at domestic, regional and global level. Created new products and brands at a global level, been a part of a leadership team achieving six times revenue and EBIT growth. Jamie does coaching and mentorship of charity leaders and their boards. Catch the full episode using the link in the comments 👇🏽 #storytelling #speaking #impact

If you haven’t embraced storytelling yet, you’re leaving money on the table. When I say storytelling works, here’s what I mean: A lot of people ask, "How can storytelling bring me money?" Let me show you. Every time I’m on a podcast, reading... I’m eager to learn something new. But when the conversation shifts to storytelling, I sit up a little straighter, ready to soak it all in. Now, are you ready? How to make money with storytelling: 🔷 Be real about your setbacks/losses: People connect with authenticity. Sharing moments when things didn’t go as planned doesn’t make you weak; it makes you human. 🔷 Talk about your experience: Every experience you’ve had, good or bad, shapes who you are. Your audience can see themselves in your journey. 🔷 Showcase your expertise: You’ve gained knowledge and skills over time. When you wrap that expertise in a story, it makes it easier for others to understand and relate to. 🔷 Leverage connections: Stories build trust. Trust leads to strong relationships, and those relationships? They’re your gateway to opportunities💯📌. It’s not about perfection. It’s about truth, your truth. That’s where the real impact lies. If you haven’t tapped into storytelling yet, you’re missing out on one of the strongest tools for growth.

This is a 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 I ask before every storytelling engagement. 🔹 Before a workshop. 🔹 Before a project. 🔹 Before a discovery call where we are still unsure of what we want to do with stories. Many a times, we want to use storytelling just because we feel it will work. Or we want to use it because we have heard that it is impactful. Or its a key skill that will tell people in simplest words, what to do. When I flip the trend to ask my trainees, students and potential clients a question like this, they are a little taken aback. I ask 𝘄𝗵𝘆, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁, 𝗵𝗼𝘄, to know if they have experienced a shift after a story. A personal experience is a great way to validate if stories work! I also ask 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 & 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 to know if they have used stories strategically. The results / impact are discussed and I know how far have they gone. In my podcast 🎙 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗮🎧 I am asking these questions to my guests too! 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀?
