I've had a few people in my network reach out to me, from the Talent Acquisition & Human Resources sides (and Marketing). I have directed them to opportunities at my company, and they are keeping tabs on us as our needs develop in 2024, but they are unable to consider a move at this point, and are not in the area of our current needs. They are also focused on U.S. - Remote roles at this time (full-time, not contract). If anyone has a lead on a TA role (individual contributor), an HR role (individual contributor or management), and/or a Sr. Marketing Specialist (individual contributor), please feel free to reach out to me privately. ⭐ Before you decide to look for a new role, do this… ⭐ ✅ Speak to your Manager / Boss / HR and tell them your concerns; ✅ If you think you’re being underpaid – tell them, ask them for a raise; ✅ If you think your commission or bonus is crap - tell them, give them an idea of what you want; ✅ If you think your benefits package is, well a bit mean – tell them, give them an idea of what you would like in a benefits package; ✅ If you want to work hybrid or remote – ask; ✅ If you are not sure of your progression plan or your prospects – again, ask; ✅ If you have been passed up for promotion – Ask, why? Ask is there a training plan or what you need to do, to make sure it doesn’t happen again. ✅ You get my drift – anything you’re not liking or unhappy with let your current manager / boss / HR know. ✅ They want to keep you. The majority don’t want you to leave. The Now-Employed (former) Executive Assistant You did not read that title wrong; I am now a FORMER Executive Assistant and no longer #lookingforwork. I recently transitioned into the role of Recruiting Coordinator/Analyst within the Talent Acquisition Team of Inmar Intelligence HR Organization. This move might appear to some as a step back; however, it marks my return to a field I have previously worked in and genuinely enjoy. Much like my responsibilities as an EA, my new position involves a significant amount of organizing and coordinating, with a heavy focus on people and calendars. Additionally, it offers me the opportunity to contribute to process enhancements related to screening, hiring, and onboarding. For those who have been keeping up with me, yes, I'm still working part time as a grocery store cashier. It's less about the financial aspect (haha) and more about the incredible people I get to interact with—both customers and coworkers alike. They truly are some of the kindest and most enjoyable individuals I've had the pleasure of working with, and I genuinely love it! Honestly, having juggled 2 and 3 jobs simultaneously in my 20s and 30s, I never anticipated continuing this trend into my more... ahem "seasoned" years. While I am loving the new FT job and getting to know my coworkers, I am finding it challenging to transition my 20+ years of experience in MS Office to G-Suite. OH EM GEEEE!! It reminds me of trying to mix and bake a cake with only 1 mixing bowl, 1 small spoon and 1 single cake layer pan; it can be done, but it takes a lot of time and patience. The simplest things are SO different, like changing the subject line of an email, or using my favorite keyboard shortcuts (and buh-bye Control + Y). I am slowly getting used to it, and actually like some of the more “collaborative friendly” things I have learned, but I hate not being a Subject Matter Expert (SME). As a Recruiting Coordinator who uses G-Suite, I sometimes feel like a fish out of water, due to the lack of a community of subject matter experts to connect with. As an Executive Assistant (EA), I enjoyed being a member of, and contributor to, EA-focused groups on various social media platforms, and I also enjoyed membership in several user groups for Excel and Teams across different channels. HOWEVER, now that I've transitioned into the role of a G-Suite user and Recruiting Coordinator, I find myself searching for similar communities without much success yet. I really miss networking with other SMEs and sharing best practices, tips, tricks and knowledge about different platforms being used to make the work more streamlined.
