As we approach Rosh Hashanah, The Ark continues to empower over 5,000 individuals across Jewish Chicagoland with vital services, from food and housing assistance to employment counseling to healthcare and mental health services. Consider a gift of $54 at https://lnkd.in/gwr2RR27 to help make 5785 a sweet and healthy year for all in our community. Clients like Sharon, who receive crucial support through The Ark's Market, are just one example of the lives we touch: "My case manager helped me see how much I could save by getting groceries from The Market every month. The extra support has given me some breathing room, and I’m even saving up to fix my car.” Your support provides much-needed relief for clients like Sharon, and strengthens The Ark’s daily efforts to make a meaningful difference and deliver these vital services to those in need. #poweredbycommunity

This is gonna rock a few boats. If Housing 1st programs cannot get with compassionate care, voluntary services and respecting the people they serve without bias for drug use or mental health challenges. Then, GIVE THE MONEY BACK. It's that simple. All the Housing 1st grants, shelter grants are all about Housing and care 1st. That means we have to work on ourselves as providers, unpack our biases, make an effort to learn more about these issues. It means we will have hard conversations with heart, that we will not push our personal/political, religious/work agendas onto people even if it means our numbers of success are low. Being mean to people, judging them, using rude tone is never going to help someone heal. Please don't take our work frustrations out on the people we serve. #HousingFirst #HealingCentered #Respect #SurvivorLed #Education #bestpractices #druguse #peersupport

Really important for people to see the vital life saving work of services in action.
ITV News sees Depaul-led consortium save lives in Northern Ireland As Depaul Ireland and its partners Arc Solace and First Housing mark 10 years of harm reduction services in the North West they were joined by ITV to see first hand the partnership in action when they were called upon to administer Naloxone to save a life. Marking the 135th time this year they have administered this life saving drug. To mark 10 years of the partnership, Depaul, launched a report which revealed a sharp rise in homelessness in the 10 years and an increasingly complex landscape of mental illness. With an ever increasing need for services now more than ever these services are hugely important to the community.

Through life experiences and health concerns, and a previous 20 year hospitality career, I am on a mission to change lives. I am passionate about people, support & development. “Together We’re Stronger”
🚀Want to help me make my project perfect, help and save more lives, make a bigger impact, improve support and child development⁉️ 🌱My organisation has just secured food support from 2 wholesalers. My food support service, education and development program will now be expanded.🌳 🤝A food support service in a deprived community with council support, boost program funded, to monetise, with subscription gift box going to households, schools and subscribers and an affordable meal prep service being rolled out. Within packages, recipe books, gift boxes there will be product abd advertisement opportunity. With an organisation and 2 large wholesale companies pushing and social enterprise network getting involved with marketing and advertising it’s a great opportunity for exposure of company or a product.🎁 💝If you’d like to be involved or be in our guides and packages get in touch before it’s rolled out and fees significantly increase. Happy to collaborate or partner if we align. This about giving back to those in need and giving people hope, skills and positively impacting on mental health and education. Several primary schools are supporting and we are going to be delivering workshops both in schools and the community.🙌 👨🍳I’m also doing this from life experience since recently facing a chronic illness diagnosis and understand the struggles communities and people are facing. The schools have highlighted several important issues that need addressing which we are combating with support locally from nutritionists, mental health PT, teachers, wellness and mindset coaches.🧠 🌞Thank you to each and every supporter and follower. We’re going to change so many lives. 🤩 Trust In Community - The TIC Group✅ has also just been accepted by Lancashire County Council for its boost program, so you know what this means, that little seedling is growing 🌱✅🌳 and more importantly more people in need, it’s supporters, donators, followers will also be rewarded and supported 🚀🚀🚀 “Together We’re Stronger” 🤝💪🫶 #TogetherWeCan #changinglives #communitysupport #chaseyourdreams #mentalhealthawareness #childdevelopment #communitygrowth #PassionInAction 🙌🙌🙌 www.trustincommunity.co.uk

At First Step, we believe in empowering people to reclaim their lives, build resilience, and forge meaningful connections. Every day, we witness the transformative power of integrated care in helping our client’s overcome addiction, mental distress, and legal challenges. Our holistic approach ensures that people receive the comprehensive care they need – medical, psychological, legal, and social support – all under one roof. We receive no state government support for our addiction, mental health or medical services, nor their overheads or infrastructure costs. The siloed nature in which society often views health and wellbeing is mirrored by government funding structures which are not designed for integrated service delivery. We intend to change that, but it’s going to take time. That’s why we still rely on our grassroots community. Please consider supporting our Winter Appeal. https://lnkd.in/gwG_wBw First Step Legal #mentalhealth #resilience #community

Community is radical self care. We weren’t meant to raise children or deal with aging parents or celebrate promotions or weather divorces with just a little nuclear family. We were meant to be supported by a close-knit community of family and friends and neighbors – people who can hold us when we are in the lows of life, and can celebrate with us when things are great. In the past couple of weeks, I have listened to moms lament their lack of community when it comes to managing the chaos of raising a little human. I have heard people talk about how stressed they are about work, and how they feel like they don’t have an outlet because their partner is equally stressed about their own job. People are sharing how alone they feel in dealing with grief in their lives, whether it be via infertility or the death of a loved one. The common themes seem to be either the lack of a strong community, or the sense that you would be too much of a burden if you did reach out to the people in your lives. Life is complicated. The benefit of having community support is that when things become too hard, when they overwhelm you, when your little unit of 2 or 4 or 5 is not enough – this is when they can step in to help. This month, I want you to focus on one of two things: either do one thing that can help you grow your community, or do one thing to support someone in your community. This can be as simple as dropping off an unexpected bouquet of flowers to a friend you know would appreciate it. It could mean signing up for a class and then being brave enough to strike up a conversation with a classmate when you are there. It could mean joining a new moms group, or reconnecting with a friend you haven’t spoken to for a while. Community is critical to our health and happiness, and I hope that all of you find the support you need.

Purpose gives our lives meaning, and finding it can be a powerful driver in your recovery from Substance Use Disorder. Embracing purpose can help you make positive changes and stay committed to your journey. 🔑 Ways to find purpose in your recovery: 💼 Employment: Work can support recovery by providing structure, a sense of accomplishment, and the means to support yourself and your family. 🤝 Volunteering & Caregiving: Helping others can bring a deep sense of purpose and reinforce your recovery. 🌟 Spirituality: Connecting with your spiritual beliefs can bring meaning and direction, helping you stay grounded and focused on your recovery.
