Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day, a significant event for our Vision Ireland Labs team. #GAAD inspires us to consider and enhance digital accessibility in every form. Over the past few years, many companies have taken advantage of GAAD to introduce new accessibility and assistive technology updates. Companies like Apple have consistently unveiled new accessibility features to celebrate this day. Recently, the focus on assistive technology has largely been on AI-based innovations. These advancements are giving those who are blind or partially sighted unprecedented access to information. Just this week, OpenAI's GPT-4 showcased new visual capabilities, and Google I/O announced new features for the Envision glasses. Technology continues to break down barriers for individuals with sight loss, and we are optimistic that this Global Accessibility Awareness Day will bring even more progress in this area.
