We finally broke our silence and created a safe space to talk about “periods and productivity.”
Because why must menstruation—and women’s health and bodies in general—be taboo and almost never discussed properly?
For many women, the sad reality is that we were not fully educated about how our bodies work.
We just had to suck it up and “deal with” our periods once a month with products; try not to stain our clothes (because, oh the embarrassment!); be discreet even when there’s discomfort, pain, or outright debilitation; and still try to function 100%, like the rest of the world expected us to.
The other reality is that, for women who are now in leadership roles, our periods and our bodies have a huge impact on how we work and lead.
And for us to be more effective leaders of inclusive, compassionate, human-centered organizations, we first need to listen kindly to OUR OWN SELVES, our own bodies. 💗
We’re grateful to have had the space to do that at yesterday’s #SalaSession by Imaginable Impact.
Two hours was clearly not enough to exchange stories about a topic so resonant to all of us, but it was a spark!
We’re grateful to everyone who made this possible.
Thank you, Square One Hospitality Concepts Inc., for hosting us at La Vie En Rose and serving delectable Lunes Everyday Dining dishes! Thank you, Kindred Health Inc., for being our Event Partner and supporting our work for women. Thank you, Camille Escudero, for being our conversation starter and for sharing your own story so openly and so vulnerably. 🤗
And thank you to our Sala Swag Partners for giving us reasons to celebrate and turn this into a Period Party! 🎉
I’m so excited to try really cool products and services from Lily of the Valley, COJO, Mediclick , Nala Woman, and Pure Culture — especially with my period coming up!
This is how women lead and love: we show up and hold space for each other ❤️
Thank you to everyone who was there yesterday! I’m still on a high from the warm, fuzzy feeling of women sharing stories so openly with each other. 😊
