Consider the elements—earth, water, air, and sunlight—that contributed to its creation, and the human effort involved in bringing it to your table. With each ingredient on your plate, contemplate its journey. Where did it come from? How was it grown or raised? Reflecting on these questions deepens your understanding of the global food system and its impact on the planet. Consider the environmental footprint of your meal. What practices were used to grow these ingredients, and how do they affect the earth? Acknowledging this can inspire more environmentally conscious food choices.
