A few months ago I had the chance to sit with Lynn from Laminex and talk about the results that her and her team achieved. Lynn was 100% people focused but knew she needed something more for her team. Challenge The Way You Think worked with Lynn to drive their customer experience strategy by analysing call data, telephone system capabilities, and operational practices. Within 6 months Lyn and her team achieved: ✅ An increase of over 10 points in the Net Promoter Score (NPS), reflecting enhanced customer loyalty. ✅ Promotion of staff into team leader roles. ✅ Implementation of new roles, resulting in significant positive outcomes for customers. ✅ Refined capacity requirements for effective resourcing. This was a team effort and a key example of when senior leadership, managers and team members back the implementation of strategic focused capabilities. I've been back from maternity leave for 2 months and here is the one thing that stands out as I walk my mall. Very few retailers are having FUN with their customers. Sometimes we lose sight of what our roles are as retail leadership, there are SO many distractions, but the reality is that our most IMPORTANT role is creating customer loyalty and teaching our teams how to do the same. When people receive great or terrible customer service, they tell EVERYONE they know. So how do we change our mindset, our team's mindset around our ever-growing to-do list? How do we get consistent exceptional service at the top of the that list?

So there I was, on the frontline as part of a customer service team ready to serve. But here was the problem: It was Monday and outside it was grey. I felt demotivated. I felt uninspired in my role. How did I pick myself up? By having a coffee, focusing on being grateful and then just getting on with it! But some customer facing agents may not have the strength to motivate themselves like this. Here are three easy things team leaders can do to motivate their frontline employees this week: ✅Express Gratitude: thank the team as a whole and individuals for doing a great job. Use specific examples and highlight great work from last week. ✅Cast Vision: Remind the team of your organisations big vision and how they fit into it. ✅Progression Routes: ensure each team member has a clear path to progress in your company.
