3,5 Billion EUR for Connectivity, between Europe and Asia: the Yavuz-Sultan-Selim-Bridge. 1.4 km seem to be large, but for space dimensions it is short. It has been built just in 3 years, 2013-2016. Also short in universal time scale. Why do I think about it, shipping below the bridge towards the Black Sea? Turkey decided for a bridge for 3.5 B.EUR, and Europe/Germany complains about 12 BEUR for a satellite constellation connecting Europe with the hole world??? Achieving "non-dependence", also within 3-5 years!!! Ok, the involvement of a large number of European space ecosystem players is not yet secured. This must be adjusted, including a reliable sustainable approach. But Germany alone has an annual household 2024 of 476 Billion. Hey, it is a matter of priorities, of the political parties and its individuals. By the way: since I saw the photo of the Bosporus from space, taken from the German EO-Sat ENMAP (see cover page of "Deutsche Raumfahrtstrategie"), for which we HPS delivered an optical baffle as secondary structure, and since I was first time in Romania at the Black Sea in Mamaia and Vama Veche, I always wanted to experience the water-route by myself. [𝗦𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭. 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱] 🛰 Slovenia signed an agreement on the basis of which Slovenia will become a full member of European Space Agency - ESA on 1. January 2025. This is an important milestone for Slovenian space industry as well as an achievement for the Ministrstvo za gospodarstvo, turizem in šport / Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport. 🎯 Full membership of the Republic of Slovenia will: 1) Open the door for the 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 in which the Slovenian space sector has not been able to participate so far. These are two programs that represent the core of the ESA: the fundamental technological research program and the scientific program. 2) Enable Slovenian companies to upgrade 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗦𝗔 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 and acquire 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀. 3) Enable equal 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮 with other ESA members in adopting 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 4) Increase the 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮 as an important player in international space. ℹ More information (in Slovene) 👇 https://lnkd.in/dNEC6wQi

ENABLED BY TERRESTRIAL SECTORS TO ENABLE TERRESTRIAL SECTORS It was delightful to be part of the #DubaiAirshow 2023 joining its Space Conference powered by the 🇦🇪 UAE Space Agency. Together with Amna Al Owais, Amar Vora, Anu Ojha, H. Ludwig Moeller, and Steve Bochinger we discussed many interesting aspects of the "Investing in Space to Support the Country’s Growth Plans" including: 🔗 The importance of understanding how much the space economy is interconnected with the terrestrial sectors on both ends of its value chain. 💸 The importance of attracting more private investments into the space economy. 🧩 The importance of integrating the sector even more efficiently with other economic areas. It was also great to see our companies 3IPK, GEODETICCA VISION & M2M Solutions, s.r.o., joining the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency business mission, attracting a lot of interest of the potential business partners who kept them busy with meetings the whole week. Fingers crossed that those discussions continue in a fruitful way!

EUSPA - EU Agency for the Space Programme stimulates the market development of the #EUspace #downstream sector and supports the uptake of space-based solutions, through its #HorizonEurope calls. EUSPA - EU Agency for the Space Programme’s space #calls are placed under the pillar II of #HorizonEurope, where specifically Cluster 4 of the Work Programme focuses on #Digital, #Industry, and #Space. The first EUSPA Horizon Europe Call with an overall budget of 32.6 million EUR is already in implementation phase with 13 ongoing projects that foster the European #GreenDeal, safeguard our society from crises and underpin Europe’s #digital #sovereignty. 🛰️ The European Commission’s Action Plan, sets forth a roadmap for the European-African space partnership driving inclusive green development in Africa using space technology, #Earth Observation (EO) data and #SatelliteNavigation (#SatNav) data. 🌍 The first of the three pillars of the joint Africa-EU initiative focuses on strengthening African institutional and innovation space cooperation. It seeks to cultivate an ongoing dialogue between European and African stakeholders and support space-related projects as well as better informed decision-making processes with satellite data. This includes bolstering the African Space Agency, deploying #EGNOS and #Galileo services in Africa, and forging new partnerships. Actions would enhance governance, foster transparency to underscore the positive impact of space initiatives and promote gender-inclusive outreach within EO and SatNav. 🤝 In alignment with the efforts of The Commission Action Plan, the first session of the AU-EU Space Dialogue took place in Senegal in October 2023 as EU-Africa cooperation in space continues to grow. Courtesy Visit with the Director General of the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA) August 19, 2024- Alhamdulillah, we had the opportunity to arrange a courtesy visit to the office of the Director General of MYSA, YBrs. Gs. Haji Azlikamil bin Napiah. We were deeply inspired by MYSA’s short- and long-term plans to position Malaysia as the No. 1 leader in Southeast Asia for space research and technology (currently, we are in the top 3). Tuan Haji Azli also shared the major challenges Malaysia faces in developing a comprehensive space technology ecosystem, particularly in training the necessary experts.
