Assistant Manager / Mechanical Engineer/Production Engineer(ASME Standard Pressure Vessels and Boilers) & Trainer (Fabrication Techniques) at Heavy Mechanical Complex, Taxila
Whenever I read drawings of a new project; I don't focus on how to fabricate and weld, I focus on how to keep it safe from distortions due to thermal stresses. If you find the way to nullify residual and thermal stresses, you have found the strategy to fabricate your job. #Engineer #fabrication #projectleader #heavymanufacturing

Alhamdulillah. Mechanical properties describe how a material behaves when forces are applied to it. These properties tell us how strong, flexible, or durable a material is and help us choose the right material for specific tasks, especially in welding and construction. Here are a few key mechanical properties: 1. Strength: This is a material's ability to withstand force without breaking. For example, high-strength steel can hold heavy loads without bending or snapping. 2. Hardness: This tells us how resistant a material is to scratches or dents. Harder materials, like certain types of steel, resist wear and tear, making them useful in high-contact areas. 3. Ductility: This shows how much a material can stretch or bend without breaking. Metals like copper are very ductile, which is why they’re used in wires that need to bend without snapping. 4. Toughness: Toughness measures a material’s ability to absorb energy and resist breaking, especially under sudden impacts. High-toughness materials are great in situations where they might experience shock or vibration. 5. Elasticity: This property tells us how well a material can return to its original shape after being stretched or compressed. Rubber, for instance, is highly elastic. Understanding these properties helps us choose the best materials for a job, ensuring they meet safety and durability standards.

Alhamdulillah. Mechanical Properties are characteristics of a material that describe how it behaves when force is applied. These properties tell us how strong, flexible, or tough a material is, and how it will respond under different conditions like tension, compression, or impact. Some key mechanical properties include: - Strength: How much force a material can withstand before breaking. - Ductility: How much a material can stretch or bend before breaking. - Hardness: How resistant the material is to being scratched or dented. - Toughness: How much energy a material can absorb before breaking. Mechanical Tests are experiments used to measure these properties. Common mechanical tests include: - Tensile Test: This test pulls a material until it breaks to measure its strength and ductility. - Hardness Test: A tool presses into the material to see how hard it is. - Impact Test: A hammer hits the material to see how much force it can absorb without breaking. - Compression Test: The material is squeezed to measure how it behaves under pressure. These tests help engineers choose the right materials for different uses, like building structures, manufacturing machines, or making tools.
