If you’re having trouble using new tech at work, it might be time to start treating it like a coworker. Watch Nadjia Yousif's full talk here: http://t.ted.com/gY7CEGp

Shouldn’t the emphasis be on creative technology learning to be creative with it more so than just behavioral, judgement? It seems to me or charts are about human beings and making them more human in their interactions is the key. I guess you can study that but it’s more attitudinal then the rigidity of putting human beings in boxes. Seems to me an order chart behavior more than it encourages it. it seems to me that org charts are more human resources tools that they are day-to-day play-by-play actions. It’s like a football team. Everyone has their role to play, but the basic goal is put it over the wind or between the uprights. That’s where all the motivation comes from individuals overachieving rather than playing a specific role. I know this doesn’t make things any clearer. It’s just me musing about the video.

If you’re having trouble using new tech at work, it might be time to start treating it like a coworker. Just as you would with a new colleague, take the time to understand its strengths and weaknesses. Schedule regular ‘check-ins’ to explore its features and learn how to collaborate effectively. Invest in training and practice patience as you build a working relationship with the technology. By treating it as a partner rather than a tool, you can foster a more productive and harmonious work environment.

Crikey is the office that isolated from the technology that is used to make the bucks? Really? If sparky didn't know his screw drivers we would all be on the dark and the mechanic his spanner we would be stopped. Technology has always been an organic part of what we do. It's merely an extension of ourselves. I do find that there is not enough communication between the strategic and operational sections of a business. I find that we often have to ..."I don't care what it is designed to do, I want to know what it can do".... Often when we have been signed up to produce something that the asset has not been designed to do, but can do (Jerry- rigging) because nobody asked the correct questions before signing off on a supply contract.

Thankfully my job pushes me to embrace technology in ways I might not if left to myself.

Treating new tech like a coworker? Interesting approach! Just like with humans, patience and understanding are key. Invest time to learn its quirks and capabilities. Build a relationship—it's about adapting and leveraging its strengths to enhance productivity. After all, mastering tech isn’t just about tools; it’s about empowering yourself in the digital age. #TechAsCoworker #AdaptAndEmpower #AdditionalInsights

Portfolio and Asset Management to key components to help bridge the gap between end users and the technology used to improve and enhance their work. If users aren’t aware of the solutions available to them they will create their own. IT needs to communicate and create a clear line of communication and exposure to their community.

Love the idea of treating technology like a coworker, it can be hard to integrate but leads to more than just the sum of its parts.

Love this concept! To add on this, it might help different teams to check in what ‘tech members’ are being used by other teams and if they can be leveraged for their teams too. Specially useful in big organisations to maximize adoption as per team roles.

Intriguing perspective! Technology indeed has become an integral part of our work lives, and fostering a harmonious relationship with it is crucial for success. Nadjia Yousif's talk provides valuable insights on this matter. Highly recommended for anyone navigating the digital workspace.
